Hi. I found on the Abernathy, Hale, Texas 1940 census: Carroll Turpen, born abt 1906, his wife Jewel, born abt 1909, and son Paul, born abt 1928. I haven't found a marriage record yet.

Deach certificate states he worked as Locomotive Engineer for the Missouri pacific railroad. most likely started after he came back from war, he may not have even gone overseas. He lived at 2108 Lafayette Ave St. Louis with Edna Tacke who signed the DC....all I know...its starting to snow here...Mike
