I have found some occasions where Find a Grave created a "ghost" auto edit after I opened the edit screen but abandoned the changes (usually with the "back" button), only to find later than an edit was generated. If you get a very, very strange auto edit request, that may have happened.|
Some people have asked if the Great Dane in the photo is my dog. No, he is not one of my "babies." My dogs do funny things, but not things that can be captured in still photos. My littlest one, Doogie, a miniature Schnauzer mix, is at least 15 years old. Doogie sometimes goes to sleep standing up, weaving from side to side, and snoring. He's a little dog with a big personality that fills up the house. Our babies live very long lives, sometimes 16 to 17 years; and they've been the best friends I could have ever asked for. I have met only two dogs in my life I didn't like at least a little bit. My husband and I have adopted rescued pets for over 35 years, and our children and our brothers and sisters do the same. Mixed-breed dogs are my favorite because their looks are as unique as their personalities. I don't know about anybody else, but God gave ME two hands so I can rub two dogs at once.
"It came to me
that every time
I lose a dog
they take a piece
of my heart with them,
and every new dog
gifts me with a piece
of their heart.
If I live long enough
all the components
of my heart
will be dog, and
I will become
as generous and
loving as they are."
I would like to thank contributor David Schram for the many, MANY long hours he has spent photographing graves in western Oklahoma, posting those photos, and adding memorials for those folks who didn't have one before. GOOD JOB!
THANK YOU to all contributors who take the time to send me edits and post photos and flowers to the memorials I add.
If there is a place in the USA or its territories where there are no tornadoes, earthquakes, volcanoes (dormant or active), hailstones bigger than peas, floods, tsunamis, hurricanes, cyclones, blizzards, ice storms, sand storms, fire storms, freezing rain, sleet, droughts, or sinkholes; it doesn't snow before December or after March; it never gets below 30 degrees or over 95 degrees Fahrenheit; and it isn't a desert, would someone please tell me where that is?

You asked about my listing of TWO Clarence J Deckers. You are correct, I duplicated this burial while listing my cemetery. 58828784 was just deleted, since I had already added Clarence's funeral notice to 58747486. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

You are correct in that Find A Grave doesn't have all options covered in multiple memorials. For examples; my step-father was married 3 times. His name is on 3 headstones in 3 different cemeteries in 3 different towns. His ashes were placed in all 3 burial locations. Talk about duplicates :-)
BTW, I really like the dog picture on your Member page!

It is fixed. Thanks for letting me know.

The bio for Joe just gives her name as his mother, which makes her birth well before 1935. The census of 1918 is at least close. I think I said before that Joe's wife is a cousin (1st 2 removed, or something). I have no other data on the family. The living relatives I know, partially, all live distant.
Too bad Sunset doesn't have the records available. I did ask where someone was buried before, the worker had a difficult time. The records I saw were quite disorganized.
Only having the year of death is problematic, searching the newspaper for the obituary would be quite time consuming. The other choice would be Campbell-Lewis and Weiker Funeral homes. Jim would have nearly a century of all the homes that became Campbell-Lewis. Jason has all the records for Slater, as well as Sweney-Reser.
Lack of Social Security record I have seen before with women in this life span. She was a farm wife or house wife and never worked a paying job outside, hence not needing a SS number.
Looks like more happy hunting. I'll provide assistance as time warrants.

I have his grave marker in the Community Baptist Church cemetery in Locust, NC. He is also listed in that cemetery in a listing of Stanly county deaths. Maybe the manager of his memorial will change the location of his remains. Community Baptist Church is located on Highway 200 N in the edge of Locust.
I hope this information helps you.
