Wow, it's hard to imagine that these temporary markers have lasted almost 90 years. It's markers like these are especially nice to have pictures of. Thanks for all of your work on Find A Grave!

Thank you so much for the nice photos of my Bowyers. I really appreciate it. I am hoping you might be able to help me find Stephen's parents who died in Beaver County. I am hoping they might also be buried at Gate Cemetery.
Stephen's mother is Almeda "Lizzie Lay Bowyer. Born 26 Jan 1861 Linn County, Missouri and died 18 Dec 1905 Beaver County. Stephen's father is John James Bowyer born 8 Oct 1856 Linn County, Missouri and died Mar 1934 Beaver County.
Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Carole

I want to thank you for finding the photos of Earl and Lottie's grave site.

Hi Tami! You mentioned that Esther Koppes Fretz was your gr/gr grandmother. I'll get a photo of her stone in a day or so. Right now, please email me at the museum. I've got some questions for you, and some Fretz family history that I recently got at an auction. I got it for the museum, but would be willing to share with you. Thanks Tami for following up on this request. They are one and the same person. He was a veterinarian and was also referred to as "Doc". Elsies' wife, my mother and the adopted cousin migrated to Calif during the Dust Bowl era (after Docs death) - when farming was no longer a viable business. She must have lost the farm and his once lucrative farm machinery business he had. Pretty sad time for a lot of folks and double sad for my GM and mother to loose gthe bread winner just before Xmas. That old section of the Cemetery looks pretty barren, its a wonder anything is left.
