RE: Alexander Hancher
Jackie, first remove "Danford" as his middle name. His brother Ambrose is the one with the Danford middle name. I've found no documentation that Danford was Alexander's middle name. In fact, his Civil War pension record shows no middle initial or name.

Now, to merge, send an email to edit@findagrave.com asking for merger of the newer F-A-G memorial # 109540685 with your memorial # 13697185. Since yours was the original one, they should merge the other one with yours. There will be no problem if the names match. The dates are the same. When they do the merger, the appropriate links should connect. Also, add Van Buren Township as the city where he died. Then it will totally match the other memorial.

In your bio, I would just say that the surname is sometimes spelled Hanshaw. Then I would remove the sentence about one known son John Hanshaw. They had more children and John Hancher has been linked to his parents.

Let me know if you need any more help.

Daniel Asbury Drake
Some more updates. The Daniel Drake buried in Maine is not our Daniel Asbury Drake. Daniel Asbury was enumerated in the 1850 census in Warren County, Ohio, with his birth place given as Ohio. Daniel Drake of Maine was enumerated in the 1850 census in Maine, with that state as his birth place. A lot of confusion has gotten started over this family some how.

RE: Daniel A Drake
That is indeed what I'm saying. In 1980 when she was in her 90s, Norah Drake Lapsey wrote a letter to Warren County Historical Society Museum in Lebanon. It's a typed, three page letter in which she details her father as Jordan Drake (born June 2, 1838), son of Daniel Asbury Drake, son of Joel Drake. She says her father Jordan (born 1838) spoke of his grandfather as a religious crank, who wouldn't allow a horse to be harnessed on Sunday or any cooking to be done, and who made the family walk to church.
It also appears my ancestor Henry Lloyd Drake had a similar relationship with his father Jordan Drake, Joel's brother. Even though he was the elder son, Henry Lloyd Drake moved away from Warren County, Ohio, leaving his younger brother John Wesley Drake to take over the family farm.

RE: father is Jesse Drake ??
Like I said, I have a letter written by Daniel Asbury's granddaughter which goes into further detail about his father being Jesse. Daniel Asbury didn't get along with his father Joel Drake who he referred to as a religious crank. My Henry apparently had issues with his father Jordan as well.

Daniel Asbury Drake
There is a letter in the historical society's files in Lebanon, Ohio written by a granddaughter of his which contains a lot of interesting anecdotes on the family. In it she says his father is Jesse Drake, brother of Jordan, and not Jordan himself. Do you have some other evidence to show otherwise?

Francis Kelley
Appanoose County Historial Society has newspapers on line. Just go to their sight and you can search newspapers online. The images are there. I was looking for a different Kelley buried in Oakland and noticed you needed info on Francis. Thought I check and there he was. Great resource for Appanoose Co.!
