|Jay||RE: Grace Chamberlin|
Thanks for responding and, again, thanks for the additional info.

Thank you posting a picture of the Rucker monument and for seeking out and posting Grace's obituary. Those are good additions to her memorial. Do you have the name of the newspaper and date that it was published? That information would be helpful.
This is not your problem, but her date of marriage included in the obituary is a surprise. She would have been only about 11 years old. She married in 1903, so I can't imagine how the earlier date was included.
Thanks for your help!

|Jo-Ann Gruber||Marie and Christian Lantow.|
Thank you for making the suggested changes to Marie and Christian's memorials. also, thank you for transferring them to me. But most of all thank you for all your work on Find a Grave.
|L Maffett||Martha Burch Eveland|
Thank you for your help.
|L Maffett||RE: Martha Eveland|
Our mistake. We could not make out any of the wording above the name Henry Eveland. Upon closer examination, we can sort of make out the word Martha. We had attached that photo to Henry instead. Thanks.
|Carol Holden||George Washington Beebe|
Can you tell me whether or not George Beebe was married to Isabella Crowell? His spouse was not mentioned so I assume she predeceased him. I have a marriage record between George W Beebe and Isabella (Belle) Crowell dated 22 Jan 1868 so I'm trying to figure out if I've found the right George Beebe. Can you help? Thanks, Carol (Memorial #33505027)
|schuknecht||Christian Schuknecht in Waverly,Iowa|
We are trying to find a link between Joseph Schuknecht buried in Harlington Cemetery, Waverly, Iowa; Christian Schuknecht and our ancestor Johann Schuknecht in Nebraska. Where did you find the parental names of Frederick and Sophie(Stringer)Schuknecht? I would like to access those records for possible clues. Our Johann's father was Fredrick. All Schuknechts lived in the Dundee, Illinois area before dispersing. Our Johann lived in Waverly, Iowa for several years around 1867-1869.
|Richard K Thompson||Elizabeth Grammar/Grammer memorial|
I reviewed the family group sheets at the Fairfield Public Library today and found that there was considerable debate as to the names and dates for Elizabeth. The first memorial that was made for her was done because of the incorrect assumption that she was the wife of the Henry "Grammer" also in Fell Cemetery, but it turns out that they were not spouses and it appears that his own inscription was done as "Grammer" instead of "Grammar". Quite a bit of confusion, to say the least.
Elizabeth, if she died in January of 1872, did not have a published obituary as far as I know. Unfortunately no 1873 Fairfield area newspapers were available for microfilming in the 1970's, so for any deaths in 1873 we don't have access to their obits. Since Iowa didn't mandate death records until 1880 there isn't, literally, any written documentation or proof of when she died or what her maiden name was.
All things considered, I've deleted my memorial for Elizabeth, but will leave my photos posted to her "Elizabeth Grammer" memorial - anyone questioning her name or dates will need to contact the manager of that memorial for information.
Hoep that this helps.
The only time I've asked a F/A/G administrator for direct involvement was because another contributor was taking my headstone photos posted to another website and re-posting them to FindAGrave as if she took them. She got dealt with by that administrator.
Otherwise, I'll try to get corrections made vis SAC/edits to the original contributor, but going to a FindAGrave administrator to go over the head of another contributor isn't something I'm comfortable with.
|Richard K Thompson||Elizabeth Grammar memorial|
Fell cemetery records and the headstone inscription bears out that the correct name was Elizabeth Grammar, not Elizabeth Grammer as used on the other memorial made in 2006. That memorial was also entered with the wrong death year (1872 instead of 1873), and the use of "Bohannon" for the middle name is not verified or documented with any Jefferson county genealogy sources. I tried contacting the contributor of the Elizabeth Grammer memorial to have corrections made, and was met with silence.
I had attached my 2007 headstone photo(s) to that memorial to reinforce the spelling and date conflicts, to no avail. Perhaps I should remove the photo(s) from that memorial since no corrections or notatations have been made.
My entry was made in Fell cemetery using the correct name and DOD, which generally is more acceptable per F/A/G guidelines.
If you can get the other contributor to update his memorial with the correct name and dates, I'll then be happy to delete my memorial. Keep me posted on that progress.
|kakoz||Clarence and Ruth Montgomery|
Thank you for adding the pictures to their Memorial. Clarence Montgomery was my father's cousin. May I use the pictures to use on my family tree on ancestry.com.
