Davison Headstone Photo
You took a picture of Virgil Davison in Shearer Cemetery, Braddyville, Page, Iowa. Could you possibly get another picture and the one that is posted is unreadable.

I'd gladly give you $20 for everything if they don't mean anything to you. I'm not sure who George Little was though there was a Little in the family a few generations before Trajan. I have to follow that line some more. Also, I'm not sure who RFD is. Maybe there is a clue in the text of the card.

RE: Ezra Palmer
Trajan Palmer 1826-1829 and his wife Mary Fisher 1829-1905 had 7 children. Ezra 1856- 1915 was child number 4. Ezrah and his wife Viola Wax b. 1867 had 4 children. Blanche b. 1897, Orville b. 1900,Johnnie b. 1902, Paul b. 1903. Trajan was my Great, Great, Great, Grandfather. His oldest Child Elmina, is my Great, Great, Grandmother. I would be interested in purchasing any artifacts you have from that family, Especially any photgraphs that might exist!

Tyre Chaffin
I was wondering if you would post the obit for Tyre on his Memorial. My husband is in Tyre's direct line and another family member had sent me the obit.

(*Please note I have copied this just as it was. The spelling of names was not a uniform thing till about 100 years ago, and I have found the Chaffin name spelled many ways.*)

Tyre's obituary which appeared in the Christian Index on May 16, 1878, page 6 states the following:

CHAFEN - Tyra Chafen, the subject of this notice was born in Rockingham county, Virginia January 23, 1797. At seven years of age he removed to Wilkes County, Ga. from there to Jasper County; married in August 1817 and removed to Henry county; was baptized August 1827, by Rev. George Daniel, into the fellowship of Zion Church, Newton County, and in 1828 he was ordained a deacon, in which office he continued until his death, which occurred March 25, 1878.

Brother Chafen was a devoted man, to his God, to his church, to his pastor and his family; always taking a decided stand against the fashionable vices of nominal professors, and in favor of the true and second determination to live right. He traveled several years as copartner in the Central Stone Mountains and Flint River Associations, gladdening the hearts of many with his gift books and his kind talk about a better world. Well does the writer remember when he used to come to his house with the little books for the children, and glad they were to get a new book.

The last several years of his life were spent in severe afflictions; his whole body and even his voice became paralyzed, and for years he remained helpless and to a great extent speechless; but he passed through it all without a murmur and is gone---his body to the grave, his spirit to the God who gave it.

Henry County, Ga May 5, 1878 J. T. Kimbell

Thank You,
Lori Deible Chaffin

Yeah! Then we are related... I'm going to send you an email later today. Hope we can share info. I have NO info on the Wilson's except for some notes I found that my grandma had said. It's written as though it was my grandma talking but I am 99.9% sure it's my dad's handwriting. Anyway, I'll email later. I'm so excited to get to know you.
