I have been very envolved in searching down my ancestors for 30 years. Finding a new cemetery is very exciting and when I find a new little one I over indulge and tend to photograph the entire site. My pictures and Internments are all individuals that have somehow found their way into my ever growing family tree. Currently I live in Eastern Iowa along the Mississippi River which is a wonderful starting place for journeys in search of my early ancestors.
I hope you enjoy my pictures and the information I have tried to share
Memorial# 132718268 Hi Mr. Bennett, I'm adding documents and references to my Ancestry.com account family tree and came across this memorial of my paternal grandfather. I was wondering, first of all, if you would be willing to transfer it to me? His birth date is actually Oct. 17, 1891 - but is listed as Sept. 1892, even though a photo of the grave marker contradicts it, lol! I look forward to your reply. Thanks,
I am trying to find my oldest-known grandfather’s grave. I’ll call him “Father Jones”. It is reported that he died in Pulaski County, Kentucky. I cannot find a grave or any records on him. If you have any information on him or know of someone I can contact, please let me know!!
Father Jones had four sons; Alexander, James, Robert, William and Thomas. Thomas was the only one born in Pulaski County around 1800. Father Jones died between Thomas’ birth and the War of 1812. It is stated that Father Jones died prior to his son Robert joining the War of 1812.
Any help that anyone can provide would be GREATLY appreciated!!
RE: Thank you so much for picture Mark, Thank you for your response! I thought your name seemed familiar. Landon and Mary have been a challenge for me to figure out. I have so enjoyed over the years searching for family members and learning about them. Paschal Chapel has been interesting. He was a horse back riding circuit Methodist minister and traveled between Kentucky and Missouri preaching along the way. Thanks for all you do in your volunteer work. It is appreciated so much!
Thank you so much for picture Of marker for Paschal Chapel Newell and Clara (Yates) Newell. They are my great grandparents. Their son, John Solomon Newell married Maude Estelle Hoots and had my father, Howard Orland Newell. I really appreciate your time and efforts as a volunteer!
RE: Spouse of Thomas Lay, son of John Michael Lay & Rachel Leah Foley... I think we are on the same track and probably related. I tracked what little I have through find a grave. I wrote to the historical society in Campbell county and haven’t heard anything from them yet. I don't have a lot of information. By tracing my father Paul Otis Lay (Joan Carol Pritchett) to his father Perry Oscar Lay (Dora Margaret Frame) to his father George Lay (Elizabeth Manley) to father Thomas Lay (Have several different possibilities) all in Missouri, then the first thing I found on Tennessee who was John Michael "Missouri Jack" Lay (Rachael Foley). The information I found on him. Here is the link to his find a grave. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=29111162 I have more on the family closer to our lifetime. I would like to exchange information with you.
