Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching the families of my wife and mine for about thirty years. It is great to learn about family and their migrations.
If anyone finds mistakes on my entries or would like to add information, please contact me. I have been going to cemeteries in my area and have been entering photos and info so many of my entries aren't family. It is always great to meet new family and friends.

Remember, "No one is truly gone, until they are forgotten".

With the memorials I have set up, if you find any mistakes, please let me know so I can get them corrected. I'm not perfect, but I strive for perfection in all that I try to do on Find A Grave.

When requesting links, please give me the name of the person plus the ID number. This insures I link the correct person, mother, father or spouse.

On ADDITIONS, CORRECTIONS, LINKS or TRANSFERS for any Memorial, PLEASE USE THE EDIT BUTTON and Suggest A Correction or provide additional information. Any of the above posted on my message board will be ignored and deleted.

IN OTHER WORDS, SEND A SAC! Please, no bulk transfer requests!

I will be happy to transfer to a relative if it is within the Find A Grave guidelines, otherwise it will be at my discretion. Please state your relationship of the memorial you want transferred. Just saying they are family is not acceptable.

We want the memorials of those we loved to be as nice as possible.

Thank you!

RE: William E McGinnis
Nice to talk to you again.

I don't have any information on his military, so no help there...but I read it as "Bat. R 5th F. A." and so I googled it and came up with something that might be...

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
5th Infantry Division
US 5th Infantry Division
Active 1917–21
Country United States
Branch United States Army
Type Infantry
Size Division
Nickname(s) "Red Diamond",[1] "Red Devils"
Motto(s) We Will

World War I
St. Mihiel

The 5th Infantry Division (Mechanized)—nicknamed the "Red Diamond",[1] the "Red Devils", or "die Roten Teufel"—was an infantry division of the United States Army that served in World War I, World War II and the Vietnam War, and with NATO and the U.S. Army III Corps. It was disbanded and deactivated on 24 November 1992.[2]

5th Field Artillery Brigade

I am really clueless when it comes to the military, but my guess would be that he was in Divison 5th called the "R" Red Diamond or Red Devils and Field Artillery and it had to be in WWI and since he died by 1930.

Here's where I got this conclusion in case you would like to read:

Hope this helps somehow!

I see where you found the edit and put it in for the death date..It was on I have found her father and two brothers...will put in edits to link them to their father who died in 1917 and is buried in Brookings, South Dakota...her mother Harriet Woods Whitehead was working as a waitress in columbus, ohio in 1945 in phone book and listed as widow... and also listed in phone books in columbus, ohio in 1951 in columbus, ohio on ancestry. Her obit might be on the columbus library website under research and Columbus news index/obituary index. It is not working right now....donna

Sharon Springs Cemetery memorial # 42353125 Are you related to this man and do you have any further information. I believe he is my distant relative born Karl Johan Danielston Wallin in Hjelmserydo Jonkoping Sweden and immigrated to the United States in 1883 with the help of Bethany Lutheran church in Lindsborg Kansas.
