I love chasing dead people. Most of the tombstones that I have recorded here are ancestors or possible ancestors of mine or my husbands. I'm happy to share what information I get with distant cousins.|

|Karen (Howard) Blood||Jewetts in Pepperell|
Hi Carol. Hope all is well with you! I want to touch base with you about the Jewetts in Pepperell. I have noticed a bunch you have created are in the wrong cemetery (Pepperell instead of Walton) Would you like me to send you an email with a list, or used the "suggest a correction" tab, as you will get an individual message, with a link to each memorial?
Happy to help in any way,

not related. I was listing the Hills as my uncle Benona, grandparents Arch and Iva are buried there.
|debs||RE: Are you related|
I am no relation to James Campbell. I will be happy to transfer him to you if you like? I also have his wife.

I am indeed related to Fleming and Elizabeth. Here is the line: Fleming -> Edward -> Walter -> Dorwin -> Stephan -> Me.
I'm not sure what else it says. Next time I head back there I'd like to get better pics. From my records it looks like they had a son named Thomas as well...

(From A History of the Middle New River Settlements and Contiguous Territory by David E. Johnson)
Rev. Josiah II Meador
born: 10 FEB 1758 in Caroline County, Virginia
died: 22 DEC 1845 in Mercer County, WV
Josiah Meador was born on the ocean while the famiy was coming to this country. He was a pioneer Baptist in the frontier country of what is now West Virginia. He was instrumental in erecting the First Baptist Church west of the New River, known as the Blue Stone Baptist Church. He preached in this church until he was past one hundred years of age. He was carried into the church and would then sit down and preach.
Reverend Josiah Meador II enlisted in 1778 under Lt. Isaac Hyler and Hiddens and Cpt. Joseph Renfroe and participated largely in frontier service against the Indians. He saw service on Wolf Creek in Monroe County, at Fort Donnally near Lewisburg, West Virginia. He marched through Tennessee to Chickamauga in Georgia, fighting back the Indians. He took part in the George Rogers Clark expedition into the Illinois country in 1781 and marched by the way of the Falls of the Ohio to his home in Bedford County, Virginia. He served again as a substitute for John Mitchell and helped convey British prisoners to Fredericksburg. (From A History of the Middle New River Settlements and Contiguous Territory by David E. Johnson) Josiah moved from Bedford County to the New River Valley approximately in 1783. The 1840 census shows Josiah Meadows (83 years old) drawing a pension, living in Mercer County, West Virginia with his son Green W. Meador. Josiah was known as a fighting Missionary Baptist Preacher who settled on the Bluestone River at the mouth of Little Bluestone in now Summers County, West Virginia.
Document, Monroe County, West Virginia 9/10/1834 signed by James A. Dunlap, J. P.: "he, Josiah Meadows, served in the Revolutionary War under George Rogers Clark in his West Expedition in the company commanded by Essu Taylor, for a term not less than 13 1/2 months."
This is all I Have Carol!

Hi there, just doing some "blood"line research. I think your Find A Grave Memorial# 20651304 is a duplicate. This individual's stone is actually in Woodlawn Cemetery, not Walton Cemetery... Please see Find A Grave Memorial# 54179273. Although the one you created was made first, the other is more complete. I will send a message to that creator as well.
