Catherine (Strickland) Slate
Just discovered the reason the cemetery has Catherine Ayres listed as Catherine Slate. She did remarry after Josiah's death - to Erastus Slate on 2/14/1866 in Northampton. Unsure what to do - leave her with correct surname of "Slate" or list her with the surname on her gravestone? I know this will puzzle people when they see a different surname on her memorial from the gravestone photo. Guess I'll explain on her memorial. Thank u for bringing this to my attention, so I can clarify things!

Thank you for letting me know! This is one of several women that the cemetery did this to, which is very problematic for people hunting for their ancestors. I did try to give them the correct information for a woman at one point, but they said that was what their records had & they wouldn't change it, even when I gave them a link to the marriage record of the woman! Best regards
