I started seriously researching my family when I was 19. It started with a trip the the cemetery with my grandfather, to see his grandparent's headstones...written in Polish. That's when the questions started, and I got "the bug". I've been at it ever since...some 30+ years. There is much truth to the saying, "In genealogy, it's never done". How true!
I'm so happy to see the amount of information that's now on the internet. And the multitude of people willing to help each other with their searches. I live far from my family roots now, so this has been an invaluable help to me...both the internet and the wonderful people who help along the way. I'm also happy to know that the work I've done has been useful to so many others...that makes it all worth it!!
The important stuff...
Please make any transfer requests, family links, or corrections, via the "Edit" link on the memorial.
If you are sending a request to add Family links to a memorial, please include the Memorial # of the person you want linked. Without them I will be unable to make the links for you.
I try very hard to make all corrections within a few days of receiving them. This isn't always possible, but I promise to make them in a timely manner!
Transfers... Please make requests via the Edit link on the Memorial. I will gladly transfer memorials for those whom I'm not related, if they are your immediate family members. (Per FAG guidelines) When making a transfer request please include your relationship. I do make exceptions occasionally.
Lucy Hi, I was over in Aztalan Cemetery today to get a photo request done. It was Theron Minor, I noticed that there was a stone for an Esther Minor. Two stones over, was one for a Lucy. I think this may be a daughter to Theron Minor, it's hard to read, but the first name does look to me to be Theron, and the surname below appears to be Minor in the photo you put on here. I put a full headstone photo on here along with yours, only because I always like to put a photo with a close up of the name, and a full stone photo. If you want, I can remove mine as I don't mean to step on anyones toes.
RE: Al Johannes and his wife Janet Hello, Thank you for you response on Al Johannes and his wife Janet. As I stated, they are my relatives, Janet is my second cousin, and I would like to have the memorial so that I can include family connections and obituaries. Are you related to them in any way? If not, please transfer the memorial and I can manage them along with the other family members that I have. I will kindly do so for you, should you need any help from me.
Belitz/Salm Many thanks for the obit for Wallace Belitz! Do you know the day and month of his death? Anita Salm. I checked various sources and the answer is I do not know where she is buried. I did request a photo of the gravestone for Wallace and someone has requested a photo for the gravestone for Anita. I checked the Manitowoc website, and ancestry.com. but that did not help. Suggest the following: 1) obit for Anita Salm. 2) check with Will Belitz in Cleveland. He seems to be the family genealogist. Please update me so I can correct or delete my memorial. Again, my thanks for the information! One hand washes the other! Aavedt
He shares a stone with his in-laws. However, you are getting warmer. :-) Thank you for responding to my request. The OSSWs in his cemetery record refer to: Albert Lutze (1874-1935), Alvina Bull Lutze (1876-1975), Margaret Lutze (1909-1931), and his wife Marie Lutze Pippert (now recently deceased).
Your "Margaret Pippert" memorial is mistaken and should be deleted. You have already created a memorial for Margaret Lutze. Notice that the DOB/DODs are identical.
I have placed a photo request for clarification to show that the grave marker denotes Lutze, and this problem is a confusion caused by the name "Lutze" not being specified in Francis' cemetery record.
