Can we work together to get this possibly straightened out?

When a marker in a National Cemetery has a designation such as "Korea" or "Vietnam" it DOES NOT mean that the service member actually served IN that country during that war.

It means that they served in the military during a time period designated by Congress.

For Korea, that time period would be June 27, 1950 through July 27, 1954.

The VA records have him with a 'Korea' and a 'Vietman' designation. Again, remember, it does NOT mean he actually served IN Korea.

So the question is, was he or was he not serving in the military, in any capacity, from June 27, 1950 through July 27, 1954?
