Bio and Links
Bio Photo Retired public relations executive, inspector, newspaper columnist, fine arts artist, short story writer, "Ghost writer" and author of more than 35 books, including CHEESMAN FAMILY HERITAGE, The CHEESMAN DOSSIER, CHEESMAN DOSSIER II: RELATED FAMILIES, and The ILLUSTRATED GARDEN OF STONES Cemetery Book series.
It's difficult to read many old burialstones, depending on the style and technique of the stone engraver, or simply depending on age, wear and mother nature... an 8 might be taken for a 3, or a 5 might be mistaken for a 6, among other numeral combinations. Also bear in mind that some stone carvers have made mistakes because the written material for them to inscribe from was not always clear or legible.
If I am found to have misread a monument, let me know and I will promptly correct it as soon as I am able. Except for the cemeteries that I've worked on and have written about, my primary focus is on Cheeseman - Cheesman - Chessman and all variations of the surname, people related and associated to these families, and their their close friends.
I usually go on-line about once a month more or or less... Quite frankly, I don't trust or really care for computers because of so much misinformation, dirt, viruses and trechery that's commonly posted on them. Find-a-grave is one of the very few sites that I trust and go on.
I am certainly and genuinely always happy to hear from relatives and friends, and will try to respond to inquries as soon it is possible.
Your thoughts and messages are important to me, but I am slow at times, so please be patience.

Surnames that I am primarily focused on for a new book in progress:
Augastat / Augustat, Baker, Bernabe, Besser, Cheesman / Cheeseman / Cheseman, Chesman / Chessman, / Chisman, Clark, Cox, Cupps, Friar / Fryer, Hedger, Herrin / Herring / Heron, Hughes, LaHa, Laundry / Landrie, Orcutt, Plough, Sexton, Thornburg / Thornburgh, Valentine, Willson / Wilson.

Associated surnames; Brennecke, De Floris, Pellizzaro, Ramos, Renaud, Somogyi, Stachowski / Stackowski, among others.

I have Jason A. Biggs' obituary. If you would like to add that to his memorial, send me an email and I will send it to you.
Also, where can I get your book Garden of Stones?
Thanks, Joanne

I posted a memorial for George F.Criger also but did not find yours when I searched for a previous posting, as I searched under George Franklin Criger.
He is my great-uncle, a brother to my grandfather, Lou Criger. My posting is 78239559 and it has an extensive bio about his life. I was contacted recently by a Marla Borders, who is a relative by marriage to the Marks family. She asked that I add my content to your posting and delete mine. As I am the relative of GFCriger, I am reluctant to do that but respect the fact that your posting was created first and want to adhere to suggested Find a Grave courtesy policy.
I have a suggestion and wish to discuss it with you.
My email is jdone@centurylink.net
Thanks so much,

Samuel Cheesman, 1769-1806
Samuel Cheesman is my 5th great-grandfather. Your Find a Grave entry says he was a Rev. War soldier, but he would have still been only about 14 years old at the war's end in 1783. Thoughts?

Thank you.

RE: Cheesman - Cheeseman Family Reunion Facebook site
thank you. I've asked for my direct line, most aren't managed by you. We'll see if she transfers or not.

I'm working the cemetery now, matching husbands and wives, along with the descendants that I know.

I haven't even started on Mother's work, which covered the Wayne and Jackson townships. You can image how intense that is.

I'll be adding photos as I find them.

RE: James Buchanan Ray
I'm Mildred's oldest daughter. I would love to have all of my family, but part of mine is yours too.

I think almost all of West Point is part of my family, at least the ones that were there before 1964.

All the Hanselmans, Laugheeds, Poisels, and Rays are related to me.

Plus lots of Farmers Institute.
