Thanks for the updates. I wanted the bio note added because I think he may have lied about his age when he joined the Army. Or else just faulty record-keeping - folks in the early 20th century didn't have to fill out a lot of forms with their date of birth, and they could be a little vague about just when they were born.

RE: Martins at Mountain View
Hi Janet,

I called Mountain View today and, I think, solved the riddle of John West Martin (#152957844) and John WESLEY Martin whose name appears on the grave stone at Plot 2, Lot 51.

Mountain View told me that John WESLEY was buried in 1969 in the same plot as John WEST Martin. So, I made a memorial page for him (#155030259). It turns out that he was the grandson of John WEST Martin (22nd Mayor of Oakland) via his father, Shelby Foote Martin (who is also in Plot 2, Lot 51).

So, would you mind adding the picture you took to John WESLEY's memorial page?

Thank you so much and sorry about the confusion!

Thanks so much for the great photos and plot update for Aunt Grace's final resting place. I really appreciate you taking the time to do this for me. Hopefully, I'll be able to repay you one of these days. :-)

Elks Plot Updstes
I have no problem processing your updates. I will also put obits and other info in the bio section. I'm glad you are working on this plot. I know how much work it is, having done a couple of plots myself. With somewhere around 250,000 burials in Mountain View, we need all the help we can get!

Frederick Green Wright
Hi Janet!
I was really surprised to see a photo and bio of my maternal grandfather whom I never got to meet. Only my oldest brother Tim, (deceased 1996) had very few memories of Corporal Wright. I was wondering how you got the info and photo's of Fred and his older brother's Eddie and Anson and their wives Mary and Alice. Ed and Mary belonged to the Native sons and daughters of the Golden West, open only to California born. Ed, Anson and Fred's mother belonged to the society of California pioneer women group (now defunct) that met in a log cabin at Golden gate park. What other interesting things do you know about my Wright, Pell and Cohea ancestor's that I don't know already? Would love to hear from you. Please e-mail me at or leave a message on ancestry California/Santa Clara county boards. I am now a recent transplant to Capitola by the sea. Are you any relation to Mary Connor Wright or Alice Brown Wright, my great aunt's by marriage. I think all of us kids missed out by not ever meeting these people (my brother's Tim and Chris did meet Uncle Eddie a few years before he passed in 1959). Their mother outlived her three sons and died a year after Eddie. I am not working now and not on but if you are, have a look at my Nowak family tree (Cohea's, Pells, and Wrights included).
Hope you had a great Christmas and have a Happy New Year,
Dana E Nowak
