Bio and Links
Bio Photo My interests in genealogy lies with my family's roots in southern West Virginia. Walkers on my mothers side and Hatchers on my fathers side. My cousin wrote a 700+ page book of the Walker History going back to 1734. I took an interest of photographing headstones of ancestors in the cemeteries I was familiar with and then it spread out to larger ones in Beckley and now I am trying to find EVERY cemetery named in this book. I am compiling a photo album of headstone pictures and Find A Grave printouts and cross referencing them to the page they appear on in the Walker History book. I will never ask for a transfer of a memorial that I am not related to the person. I hope one of these days my grandson and future generations to come will appreciate our efforts.
Thanks to Find A Grave volunteer photogs I have received headstone pictures as far away as California and Oregon. Once, while visiting my in-laws in southern Texas, I went to Ft. Sam Houston and found the grave of my third cousin that was killed in WWII. I have a cousin, Sheila Lewis Underwood, that has created our family tree on Tribal Pages using this same Walker history book and in collaberation with her our childrens' childrens' children can look back on our history in awe.
Other family names in my genealogy are Lilly, Meadows, Wallace, Woods, Daniels, among others.

Before you send an edit request for names, dates, or links, please provide proof backing up your information. I won't change or add any information on my memorials without official documentation, such as; marriage license, death certificates or newspaper obituaries. Just because you say so, doesn't mean it is. Please provide documentation to prove your edit requests. I don't particularly trust census reports or information someone posted on ancestry sites to be adequate proof, so if you could, please provide documents listed above. I'm into this for accurate information on my memorials, not for numbers where census reports are used to create memorials with problems, just to get a number on my profile.

more pre-need markers
It has been changed in the last year, apparently, but all the discussion in the Forums indicates that old entries are "grandfathered in". Someone there in the Forums probably has a copy of the old FAQ, or could tell you where to find a Cached version of them. I would take the new FAQ to mean that there's no age limit anymore, but who knows if that is the intention? But, as many people have commented in the Forums, since Find A Grave's main mission is to document what's in cemeteries, then any marker should be added, regardless of the dates, or whether it has any at all--which is the case fairly often.

pre-need markers
People with pre-need markers in place born before 1931 can stay on Find A Grave unless they themselves object.

RE: Berg-duplicate
Gee, she sounds like a bit of a issue. She needs to check for ones that have been done. She needs to worry about it. It isn't fair to the rest of us, who do it the right way. I do appreciate you finding the duplicate, and for the other info.

RE: Berg-duplicate
That doesn't sound good, but Thank you, I will see what she does, plus she had done a number of duplicate headstone pictures.

RE: HolyTrinity Cemetey
I did a bulk upload of several hundred photos I took at that cemetery.
When that is done there is no way to know if there are already photos for the graves or not.
the bulk upload is far from a perfect app and is still in its beta form.
But two photos are better than no photos, so I am not worried about it.
I am sorry you are worried about it.
Have a great week!

All done. In future, please send edit requests through the individual memorials. I rarely check my home page for messages and usually edits don't get done if posted there. Thank you!

Double photos are probably the result of having memorials combined - I'll delete mine. Thanks for letting me know.
