Feb/Mar 2015

I will be happy to add information and links to memorials that I manage.

Please use the EDIT tab on each memorial. I can usually get updates done within a day or two.

If your updates are taking longer to appear, then we are probably traveling and I will be getting to additions/corrections just as soon as I have internet access.

If we are on a trip, we could be out of touch from the internet for as much as 2 weeks at a time.

A transfer request must include your relationship to the individual, and a little extra identifying information. This is just to help prevent any potential mix-ups.

Please feel free to use my photos in your on-line family tree. It would be much appreciated if you would give credit to Find A Grave as your source for the photo.

Thanks ahead of time for your help and contributions. They are much appreciated!

RE: Family Documentation - Moses Hopwood Farr
Is there an administrative office at the cemetery? I cannot find record of a street address or telephone number. I'd like to see if they have any records of burials.

Sorry I failed to reply until now; it seems like you were able to put the pieces together.

Sadly, couldn't view the Ancestry tree, due to lack of a subscription.

BTW, would you happen to know the name of his widow? Maybe she is also listed on Find A Grave.

RE: Robert T. Lyons
On the photograph you provided, his rank is indeed Lieutenant, and his date of death 1875; however it seems that his date of birth was 1827, not 1847.

The 1827 date would be more accurate; Robert Timothy Lyons previously served as a Private in the 1st Delaware Infantry Regiment from September 1861 until September 1864.

If you want a photograph of his grave, you could maybe contact member PhilKel (#47125592); he seems to have recently taken some photographs at the same cemetery.

RE: Robert T. Lyons
While I'm not related to this person, I do believe information I provided is accurate. (I'm not 100% about his place of birth) As you mention on his memorial, he served as a Lieutenant in the US Regular Army.

I looked into Heitman's Historical Register and Dictionary (which lists basic information about all officers in the US Regular Army before 1903), and found only one person with that name serving as an at the time of your man's death; Robert Timothy Lyons, a second lieutenant in the 17th US Infantry Regiment. This man died on the exact same day; his place of death is taken from the Official Army Register for 1876 (which lists the deaths of all Army officers in 1875).

I hope this answers your questions. I only wonder why he was buried in Pennsylvania...

RE: Memorial Sponsorship
You're welcome. It is nice that sponsorship is inexpensive. Lowell was my husband's grandfather :) Take care

Famikly Documentation - Moses Hopwood Farr
Hi. I am doing some research for a gentleman who is seeking membership in the Sons of the Revolution. Do you have any documentation (or can you tell me where I/he may obtain it)for Moses Hopwood Farr - proving his relationship to his parents, John Farr and Lucinda Hopwood Farr? We're missing that documentation proving the relationship.

I'm not sure how messaging via this website works - my email is

Appreciate any advice you can give me.

RE: Memorial# 73108914
Thanks Cashie,
I have made contact with some folks in Cambria who will get me the information. Once I get it, I will add it to the memorial if you are okay with that.

Do you have a clearer picture of the upright gravestone for Margaret Mathers? If yes, could I receive a clearer copy of the stone or at lest a transcription of the stone text? Thank you.
