Greetings and Thanks to all who provide Memorials to Find A Grave. I've been working to try and find my Family and add information to my Tree through this wonderful site. I've noticed that some of the time messages get lost and I've provided my Email address for this reason. It works better to send messages both ways. I live in Oak Harbor, WA and will be glad to help anyone looking for information in my area. If I start a memorial and they are part of your family I'll be happy to pass them on to you. I know that if I make a memorial I will always have the credit for it. I'm retired and will have no problem going a little ways to get a photo of a Stone. I've walked a lot of the Cemeteries in my area and will return to any of them if requested. If I post a Photo feel free to use it as you wish. Thanks to all who have helped me in the past and I look forward to helping anyone that may need it.
RE: Photo request You're very welcome. I noticed that his wife Helen's death year has not yet been carved into the stone. I mentioned it to the cemetery office, but they may need some kind of directive from the family (or money?).
RE: Photo requests You're very welcome, John. It's rare to find stones in this section of infants I would estimate only about 10% are marked and many of those are not readable or makeshift markers. So you really have to look hard and come with great maps to find the exact spot. Their interactive map showed no markers but sometimes you go and they are there. Either way I'm certain of those spots and that no markers exist for them. My flags are also used to probe the headstones spots in case they are just under the ground but no such luck. Were they brother and sister or of the same family? If not I'll remove my tandem photo if you'd like.
RE: Julia Bauer Thanks, yes, that is one of the markers I'll have to retake in spring. It was in a low area and all the water was draining into it. I kept sponging it off and it would refill before I could take the photo. Also, the other Bauers, babies George and Martha in section 11 appear to be unmarked according to the map but the map has been wrong many times. Anton Bauer's Marker is still under too much snow to find. So it will be a while before these requests are filled.
Not related and I don't live close, so no guarantees I'll get back there this summer.
But. But ! I think that plain one might be the one you're looking for - I have the 1981 guide to graves and he's listed in West Lake Lutheran, Arctander Twp. There are no dates in the book, but it has Eldon D. and Orvin Paaverud, and then Barba, Even T., Leonard, and Truls Poverud.
West Norway Lake in Norway Lake Twp has no Poveruds, but a bunch of Paaveruds:
Albin, Annie, Even, Kari, Mathilda, Peder, Ragneld, and Thor.
Have you contacted the Kandiyohi County Historical Society ? They have a nice website.
RE: Family? I am not a relative. I added the majority of the memorials for the Pickert Cemetery in Steele County, North Dakota, because I know some of those buried there. I am acquainted with Merl Paaverud since I live in Bismarck and have spent quite a bit of time at the Heritage Center. He recently retired as the director of the Heritage Center. Dennis
