I have lived in the Grand Coulee, Washington area all my life and went to school here, graduating from GCHS in 1962. My father and mother were farmers and his father and mother homesteaded in Douglas Co. My other grandparents owned sawmills in Okanogan Co.
I have been searching cemeteries since I was about 12 looking for family data. My husband Ted and I are past managers (10 years) of Spring Canyon Cemetery, Lincoln Co. Washington. | |

Hello Darlene,
I am searching for Lula /Lula E. Self Morton .
I have just seen a photo you posted of a Lula E. Self in Mold cemetery in Douglas County Washington.
I am hoping this is my Lula/Lulu who is the mother of James Perry Morton/Morten. And the daughter of Ellen Murphy Self McGuire, and John W. Self.
I have searched the Washington Didital Archive for her name on the Death records, no luck. under either last name for her.
Could you give me any suggestion on her death.
I have contacted Rosie who made the memorial too.
Hope this is her, it would solve my mystery as to her death and burial time.

We have a connection with the Mansfield Cemetery because the Tinkers, Neetie, Frank, Wm and Luther are buried there.
There was a double murder in 1916 when Claud Tinker killed his mother Neetie and his brother Frank. I am currently writing a book about it. I was so sad to find out that all the old newspapers in Mansfield were lost in a fire. I do have many newspaper articles about it from the Wenatchee papers.
I thank you again for helping to keep this cemetery current.
