RE: George Kyle
Since you found his marker application, he probably does have a stone - I just haven't reached it yet. The soldiers were not buried with their units. Most of the soldiers died at area hospitals, and were buried chronologically, usually the same day they died.

RE: George Kyle
Many of the soldiers' graves had been left unmarked, or with temporary markers. In the 1940s a group (I think it was Daughters of the Confederacy) decided to try to get markers for the graves. Records were gathered from various places - mainly hospitals - and stones were ordered. I think Mrs. Williams must have been a chairperson of the organization, as her name is on most of the orders. They did a pretty good job based on what they were working with, but there are many "record not found" markers. That might mean that the Civil War records were incomplete, and therefore no record of the person. Or that the hospital records had errors, and the person's name was misspelled, or a wrong unit was recorded. Oakland has about 4000 marked soldiers' graves, and about 3000 unmarked. I am slowly photographing the sections. (Blocks D and E are done.)

RE: Grafton Fitzpatrick
Hi Shar-

Thanks! Let me know if you would like any Rodig info, as I have tons.

I will start searching Oklahoma, since the info on Grafton mentioned his brother Edgar in OK. Sounds like Sophie and Edgar left Ohio.

Grafton Fitzpatrick
Hi there! I am desperately searching for info on my Sophie Rodig, who married Edgar Fitzpatrick, a brother to your Grafton Fitzpatrick buried in Lake View Cem in Cleveland (#78114657). Sons of John and Sarah.

Are you family of Grafton by any chance, and do you know anything on Edgar and Sophie? They live with parents John and Sarah in 1900 and were married in 1895. I can't find Edgar (or Sophie) after 1900.

Sophie is the daughter of Charles Herman Rodig and Mary - memorial #8742137.

Thank you for any info you may have!
Cheers from Washington-

RE: Robert Harrell
Good news! I was given the info by the Corona Sunnyslope office and have uploaded photos on all three Harrell memorial pages.

RE: Robert Harrell
I only had info on Robert Harrell on the photo request. I now see that there are three Harrell's there, including Emma and Jennie. I take it that you would like photos of those graves as well.

I'm going to see if someone at the cemetery will give me the info even though I'm not related. Wish me luck!

RE: John Mark Dunn
Hi again...I did change the county of birth to Chariton. The preponderance of evidence would show that at the time of the census he was 2 months old. It would seem unlikely the family would move around; therefore, the place of birth was changed. If he is your cousin and he is my great uncle, somewhere in there we are related.
