|Bio and Links|
We started researching family history in 2005. We have learned a lot and determined that we're not the only ones in the family doing the research. Bob, my husband and best friend, and I got involved in photographing some cemeteries in Washington State, but only small ones. Our interest is usually personal, however this is a way for people to connect with lost ancestors. There are States that have made it a priority to read and document all the cemeteries, and we know it is a huge task for any volunteer. We have found in visiting many cemeteries in our travels that once put in the ground, our ancestors are forgotten until we research our genealogy. Enjoy the photos that we post, and maybe you will find one of your ancestors. By the way, we do have family ties in some of the virtual cemeteries we posted. So if you find my posts, chances are you could be related in some way or another. If you would like a copy of our photos, please let us know.|
Because we travel so much, we will continually update our address so that if we are in your area, we would be glad to search for a family gravestone for you.
I will be adding another memorial to our list. This time it is for Robert Earl Shepard, Jr., my husband. He passed away in Phoenix, AZ on 9-15-10 and will be buried at Fort Rosecrans in Point Loma, CA on 11-17-10 with full military honors. Bob is survived by a daughter, Nicole, living and working in San Diego, CA. Bob served as a corpsman in Vietnam before and during the Tet offensive.
Although Bob is gone, I will carry on the photography. I only hope that the quality of my photos will match the quality of his.
Thank everyone for their well wishes and prayers, it is appreciated.

Thank you so much for posting Rudy's picture and obit from the Murdoch web site. Your work is beautiful and I wish all obits could be done this way to keep the front of the memorial like a family tree. Sorry it took so long to notice your work but I don't recall getting an e-mail from Findagrave.com letting me know it had been accomplished. Thanks again.

Thank you Nan for your offer. I might not have worded my request correctly as I don't have a physical copy of the obit I can send. I found it by going to Murdochfuneralhome.com and searching on Rudolph Ulferts. If you can pull the obit off the web site and upload it, please do. I have limited computer skills and am not able to figure out how that is done or how to make a copy and send it to you.

I was wondering if you would consider transferring Rudy's memorial to me as I have the obit from the funeral home I would like to put on his memorial. His mother was a 2nd cousin to me. His grandmother and mine were Schlemmer sisters. Thank you for considering this as I know the transfer doesn't follow the Findagrave rules but I would like to get it out for the public to see rather than in my virtual cemetery. Thanks again. #48818297
Thank you Nan for all the work you and Bob have done, and what you continue to do. All the best to you for the New Year!

I will do that. Yes, those Cascade Cemeteries are very confusing. All together with different names. I have tried to clean the mess up, but some contributors refuse to delete even if they are in another cemetery!! Thank You !!

My apologies for these changes. I believe you have another notice from me to delete the following from Vestal's memorial also. After I compile information I will get it to you.
Thank you so much, Joanne
"Please see three documents that have been uploaded that concerns Vestal's estate.
February 2, 1911 - Signed a month prior to death; his wife Nona is listed as having a married name, Bryant.
June 30, 1925 -His wife, Nona ended the contest of the estate
April 25, 1910 Census: Vestal & Nona were still together
Between this date and February 2, 1911, there would have been a divorce and Nona married Thomas Bryant.
January 2, 1920 Census: Nona & Thomas were living apart
January 28, 1920 - Nona & Thomas remarried in King County, WA
(Thomas's wife died n 1918) - Information provided by Find A Grave member #47622545"

According to the Phoenix Group's website: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~iatpg/cemeterylist.html, Cascade City Cemetery, Cascade Protestant Cemetery, St. Martin Catholic Cemetery, Calvary Cemetery, St. Mathias Cemetery, and St. Mary Catholic Cemetery are all one cemetery. It is very confusing.

I did my memorial in 2007 and you did yours in 2008 if I was wrong on a day all you had to do was tell me and I would have changed like I just did, I also have flowers on mine that where put there the same day I put up the memorial, Thank You.
