Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been tracing the family tree since 1985 and am currently working on taking digital photos of all their grave markers.

Many of my ancestors are located in Southeastern Kentucky and East Tennessee and that is the area I am currently concentrating on photographing.

I research the following surnames:
Abner/Abney, Asbell/Azbill, Bicknell/Becknell, Broughton, Carter, Cook, Dalton, Helton, Hipsher/Hipshire, Lakes, Powell, Purkey, Seal/Seals, Shockley, Stewart, Taylor

PLEASE NOTE: If contacting me regarding memorials, please be sure to include the memorial number(s). I will not link any memorials without all the relevant memorial numbers.

Hello! Thanks for your efforts at Find A Grave. I'm writing to ask your permission to use your headstone photos of my family members with my public family tree at You and Find A Grave would be credited. The one I'm looking at is for Sarah Webb (No. 33154864), but there might be others. Please reference Sarah Webb when responding. Thanks again. -- Randall McCoach, Albuquerque, N.M.,

Robert Abney
William Abney-# 46131184
I made a mistake with William's parents. Delete Abraham & Cassandra as his parents and replace with John Abney-#138504050 and unknown wife.

RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 38076797
Luann, thank you very much for your help. I can now rule him out since I am searching for an Anthony Hammond (native of Dublin, Ireland), died about 1864 and husband of Mary Agnes Norman who lived in New Orleans. Lynn

Can you tell me if there is any family information found in A Hammond's burial records at the Chalmette National Cemetery? Thank you for any help in this matter.

RE: William Helton #137277459
Sounds like I had the wrong one. I have deleted the record I had so only the correct one is linked to Fannie now. I think I have a copy of her death certificate at home. I will see if it lists her burial place. Thank you!

RE: William Helton #137277459
I don't think this is the same William Helton. His death certificate shows that he died in 1922, and his parents' names are Sam and Eliza (Montgomery) Helton. The one you attached died in 1929 and was the son of Arnold and Nancy (Turnbull) Helton.

Stanley Baber #50946226
While reviewing the Baber cemetery records I find Stanley Baber is the father of my g-g grandfather George Washington Baber.I have info on his decendants as it relates directly to my family. I am happy to share what I have should this be of any interest to you. I also have ancesters in the Abney, Azbill and Powell lines. I am fairly new at this but enjoying my searches very much.

Blakesley Richard
memorial 324889656
Sylvannus P. Taylor's real name was Venus P. Blakesley. He one of three sons of my g-g grandfather George Blakesley. All three sons perished in LA during the Civil War. George was also a Civll War solder, serving in two regiments. He survived and lived to be an old man.
The reason for the different name is that is mother died when he was an infant & he was brought up by family friends named Taylor.
All were from Steuben County NY.
Sylvannus/Venus was just past age 16 when he died of was probably Typhoid

Thanks for your work on Find-a-Grave
