My uncle, Carl Glee Smith Jr is memorialized at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial in the Philippines. His life was lost during Typhoon Cobra, December 18, 1944 when three ships went down, USS Hull, USS Monaghan and his ship the USS Spence. I have attempted to leave notes at each of the memorials for the 793 sailors who lost their lives that day. I also see many other memorials that no one has left flowers or honored them, I am also honoring those as I have time. There are over 44,033 memorials at that cemetery. May God bless the thousands of families who suffered loss during WW II.|
I am attempting to link many of Smith burials in an effort to help those who are just starting their family search venture. Descending from four Smith branches is a challenge. At the present time, I am linking Smiths from several states from Vermont, New York,Ohio to Illinois, Nebraska and Kansas. From Virginia through Kentucky to Arkansas. From Georgia, Arkansas to Texas.
In addition, I am documenting my Jones from New Hampshire, through Ohio, Illinois to Nebraska.
A few of my family lines are Blatherwick, Farrow, Gilbert, Wood, Kelsey, Evans, Blake, Cady, Watkins, Stewart, McCormick, Jones, Stiles, McDermott, Hoffman, Smith, Black, Brazle, Roth, Martin, Cole, Morgan, Oswalt
If you use my personal photos, please give me credit for the photo, this includes family photos posted as well as cemetery photos. Thank you.

Let me try this again. My Smith's are from Whitley County Kentucky and Campell County Tennessee.
They are intermarried with the Siler and Faulkner families. As you may know Smith's are somewhat difficult to locate, due to the many dupllicate family names.
Do you have family members in these areas?

Yes I am Vera Mable Smith's Granddaughter.

I am Henry William Smith's 2nd great granddaughter. I am trying to find information on his father Amos and Mother. But am having no luck. any help would be appreciated.

Are you also related to the Beal family? I went to school with John Beal and he was a good friend. I would like to find a Beal family historian I can transfer the Beal family records to. There is considerable work to be done to link them all together and add their histories and such. I have done part of Urias Beal and link four of his five children but still plenty to do. Please advise.

Thank you for your rapid response. I am new at genealogy and am doing a lot of family research, so I will continue to add memorials to find a grave.

My name is Cynthia D. Page, granddaughter of Donald A. Baillie, and I would like you to know his wife is Lorena Marie Limoges. Her memorial # is 121181433. If you would be so kind as to link them, I would be grateful. Thank you.
I'm having trouble with my email, I think I have a bug in my pc. I can open email to inbox but it won't let me read or do anything else with email, so can't read what info you sent for E Markland. I'm going to take pc to get fixed in next day or two,so will update this memorial then.
Thanks for the information

I see you've been busy. You're welcome for the transfer! Barbara B.
|Barbara Banales||John Beal|
Hi Vickye, I added John Beal because he was a Civil War Veteran from the Ligonier area. I have no ties to this family, so I'm glad to transfer his memorial to someone who is related. Thanks for contacting me! Barbara B.

Alice died at 36 and John re-married and moved (don't know which order) to Nebraska. Mary Ellen's birth location and their marriage location is unknown.
