I have seen the Find a Grave website during my online travels looking for family members. However one member named Robin Lee touched me deeply when she uploaded a picture of my mother's grave. My mother died very young and was in TN, I am in So. FL. I don't go north that often and it seems each time I have been to my mother's grave I wasn't able to take a picture, last time it was pouring down rain and I was on my way to my father's service and wouldn't be able to go back to this cemetery. So finding the picture here meant a lot to me. It brought tears to my eyes and still does when I look at it and can see it clearly. I hope I can help others find their family members.
The family names that I am researching are Starrett / Clark / Kagley (my father's family) and Crisp / Borden / Malcolm (my mother's family). Any help on this is always appreciated.
As a rule I will not publish any news articles or obits on my memorials due to copyright. The only time that I will do this is on a direct family member of mine.
If there are changes that need to be made on any memorial that I have posted please let me know. I do not have a problem with transferring memorials to active family members of the findagrave website. I am not a "collector" of people. I am doing this so that hopefully relatives will be able to find loved ones and be able to add the information on their family trees. I also do not have a problem with someone using the headstone pictures that I have taken for their personal files.
I also want to let people know if you just happened across this site, if there is a memorial for an immediate family member and you do not want it on here, it is the policy of the web site to remove it. All you have to do is ask. Ask the person that put it up or go right to an admin and ask. Either way it will be removed.

 | RE: my great aunt Alice Deb, Thank you!!!! You are correct about siblings & spouses. My Great Grandfather's 2nd wife died a Green but was buried with her 1st husband England but Green was never added to her stone. I think some people take this a little to seriously. I enjoy doing it in my spare time and I have enjoyed helping people find their relatives. I have never disrespected anyone on here. If I choose not to transfer a memorial it's because I believe their linked to my family and I choose to keep it. I am glad to add any information someone wants to share to any memorial I have. I will no longer tolerate rude e-mails because they are a waste of time. I will turn them over to Find A Grave and let them deal with the rude party. Thank you for remembering my Granddaughter Emilee and yes, birthdays are very hard for us ,because a year to the day Emilee was born God sent us another beautiful granddaughter. | | | anonymous
 | Thanks You will remain in my thoughts and prayers. Here I cry just because my mom's not here for my birthdays anymore and you have to live with her angel day being so close to your birthday so once again an example of why I need not complain about my situation.
Us motherless daughters need to stick together and now that our mother's are still with us and FOREVER will be, we are a part of them and they raised us to be who we are today. I'm sure you cannot imagine never knowing you mom or having no memory of her and for that we must be extremely grateful and make sure they live forever in the memories of our children and grandchildren.
Again, you will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

 | RE: my great aunt Alice Your welcome Deb!!! If you ever find my work on here unacceptable please let me know. I've been told recently that some of the memorials I put on here in 2009 before my daughter started having complications with her pregnancy which later resulted in the death of my first granddaughter are unacceptable ,because I didn't go back and link them. I'm sorry my grieving got in the way of my work on here. The next time I lose a loved one I will try not to let it interfere so I don't offend anyone. | | | anonymous
 | Your Mom My deepest sympathy in regards to the loss of your mother. Your story is a perfect example of why I feel I have NO right to complain. My mom's death was totally unexpected and came as such a shock and I had no time to say goodbye and I feel I was robbed of having her longer but I always tell myself that there are others that had less time with their mom's than I did and I should therefore be grateful for what time I did have instead of feeling sorry for myself. I had my mom for 39 years of my life and she got to see my son turned 13 and my daughter turn 12 and they were so close, just like I was to my mom. My daughter had a son two months ago and it was heartbreaking for my mom not to be here to see my first grandchild but my sister had two granddaughters when my mom passed so she did live to be a great grandmother. My daughter has a beautiful tattoo on her left arm that is a cross with roses and it says "Grandma." My mom LOVED photos and took tons and this was before digital cameras and I love photos and take lots of my grandson and always think of her and how I wish I could take her picture holding him but again I have to be thankful for what I did have, like photos of her with my children instead of literally crying about what I don't have.
I am very sorry for your loss. Your mom was a very young woman and we are members of a group we didn't want to be members of and that is motherless daughters.
By telling your children and grandchildren about your mom she will live FOREVER, we just have to make sure we tell there story because we are their voice now.
Warm regards,

 | Kagley Cemetery Took a bunch of pics out at Old Kagleys Cemetery today. I have one for a Lucy Kagley but the birth month is different than the headstone. I noticed you have a headstone pic for her. The picture you have is how most of the headstones out there look. Some just have a rock or stone for headstones with no names or nothing. Anyways, wondering if someone redone her headstone and made a mistake on the birth month. Let me know if you want me to add the one I have. Also have one for a Martha Long Kagley (1868-1892), wife of Isaac. Since it's your family if you make the memorial I'll add the pic for you. I didn't see one for Mary Kagley. If I get some time this week I'll try to ride back out there and see. | | | steph7896
 | Starritt family Where is your Starritt family from? I know I spell mine with an "i" instead of an "e". Later in my line it goes back to an e. My grandmother is a Starritt. Her family is from south Arkansas, Alabama, then up north to PA and finally came here from Scotland. Least that's what it looks like from what I've researched. Wondering if we are related? I also received your request for the Kagley graves in TN, try to go get those for you tomorrow. =) | | | A.J. Marik

 | Elizabeth Nuchols WOW!!!! First, may I explain a Weird situation. My mother's name was Sara NUCHOLS. I married Max NICHOLS! There is no connection. There is a connection with Elizabeth marrying a Whitehead, as Whitehead is part of my husband's, the Nichols', family. When I read the DC, the "U" looks like an "I". With "Whitehead", I quickly read "Nichols"! You are so correct! Elizabeth is the wife of half of my 3rd cousin (thanks FTM), so I leave her with you. I would appreciate it if you would add that both her birth and death occurred in Blount Co. and her parents were William H. Whitehead and Martha J. Keller. I do so appreciate your interest - Tommie Moser Nichols, Powell | | | | [View all messages...] |
