RE: Wife of Gayle Varner
Her mother was my father's sister. She is a first cousin. Here is her information Barbara Marie Means Varner Drynan. Born 2 Jun 1919
in Salt Lake City, Utah. Died 18 April 1997 in Oakland, California.
Remarried John E. Drynan on 31 August 1966 in Alameda, Calif.
John was born 30 Sep 1920 in Oregon and Died 11 Jan 1969 in San Francisco, Calif.
I have the feeling that Gayle Varner raised the son because I never saw Barbara with a child even though her mother had pictures of her grandson named Darryl Allan Varner Born 3 Nov 1944 in Merced, California and Died 6 Nov 2010 in Portland, Oregon. Do you want me to put the photos on this public message or should I
put them on a private email to you? Marie

Wife of Gayle Varner
Thank you for your reply Steven. According to my "mothers"
personal family history records (in her handwriting)(deceased since
1960). . . taken from the records of Barbara's mother. Barbara Marie Means married Gayle Garnet Varner on 11 February 1943 in Portland, Washington, Oregon. They had a son Darryl Allan Varner
born 3 November 1944 in Merced, Merced, California. He died on
6 November 2010 in Portland, Washington, Oregon. I have not been able to find a marriage certificate for them, but the birth date of Gayle (according to my mother's records is 13 Jan 1916 in Jasonville, Indiana.
I hope this information will help you. I do have photos of both
Barbara Marie and her son Darryl at about age 10. If you would like them I would be happy to share them with you.

Can you tell me if your father was married to Barbara Means?
She claims her first marriage was on 8 Nov 1943 to Gayle Garnet Varner and then was later divorced.

Marie Ann Gaisford

Barbara Means was my cousin.

Your 3rd Great Grandfather
Re: Your William Brown b. 1795 d. 31 Mar 1855

Did he have a wife named Elizabeth? Did he ever live in Marshall County, IL or own a general store in Wenona, IL in 1854? Do you have any Brown's from Evans Twp, Marshall County, IL or Newtown, Livingston County, IL?

On your request for Reinoehl, Kaley, Zimmerman, Geeseman, Beam, Bussard, etc, I found several stones at New Hebron that do not have a memorial yet, I will be loading them this week. I found several Reinoehl and Bussard, one Beam and a couple Kaley. Alot of the stones at this cemetery are in really bad shape, alot of them are gone and alot unreadable so the ones I have I will do my best to decipher if you see any wrong please let me know.

Erastus Varner
Thanks for your reply and I will check out the site. They had a daughter named Katie Varner. She is 11 years old on the 1880 census, listed as Varner and as being the step-daughter to the head of household William H Jordan (husband of Arbelia). Katie Varner married William Blackford. If you have here is a link to the census...

Erastus Varner
Hello - I noticed you left flowers for Erastus Varner and said he was your great grandfather. I am wondering if he was the father of Katie Varner.? Her mother, Arbelia Fox, married an Erastus Varner in Shelby County. That's not a common name and your grandfather was the only one that popped up so far. Any help is much appreciated! These are not relatives of mine. I'm just trying to finish a memorial for Arbelia and wanted to link them if it's a match.
