I live in North Central Texas. My roots go back to Ireland, Germany, France and other countries I'm unsure of. They arrived in Texas via Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee with names like Brown, Chastain, Brooks, Brooke and Moore.|
If you find a mistake on any of my inputs, please let me know; I want to correct it. Let me know if you have additional information; I will gladly add it to the memorial in a timely manner. If you are family, I will transfer it to you even if it is not directly in your line (Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, etc.)because I believe that family belongs with family.
If I inadvertently duplicate one of your memorials, let me know and I will delete immediately if not sooner.
Feel free to use my pictures, etc. on other websites, but please, have the courtesy and scruples to give me credit for them.
PLEASE do not post pictures of death certificates or newspaper clippings of obituaries on any of my memorials. Other pictures are welcome as long as they pertain to the subject person and are NOT PICTURES OF DOCUMENTS. If you wish to add an obituary, please transcribe it and send it to me through "Suggest a Correction". Be sure to name the Newspaper and date of publication.
I just love the contributors who are sticklers about staying with FAG guidelines when it comes to not transfering memorials outside a straight line but routinely add bio information with their flowers instead of forwarding it to the owner of the memorial per FAG policy.

On the above memorial, you have Laura Frances Lockware McClain. Her maiden name was McElyea. She was born January 28, 1874 in Cherokee County, TX and died July 10, 1972 in Fort Worth, Tarrant, TX. She married Benjamin Alphonso McClain September 2, 1894 in Hunt county, TX.
Would appreciate it if you would correct this or you can assign it to me and I would be happy to be the keeper.

ARE YOU RELATED TO EVALINE HUFF DAVIS OR WILLIAM ABNER TIPTON DAVIS?
|K Sanchez||Real Parents of A.A. Timmons|
I did some more digging. I think the real father of A.A. Timmons is William Timmons (Find A Grave #8841590). William Timmons was the brother of Alexander Timmons.
In the 1850 census, I find an A.A. Timmons living with his father, William Timmons and his wife, Sarah, living in Cherokee County, GA. I have not found an Find A Grave page for Sarah Timmons). I find the family again in the 1860 census for Cherokee County. This time A.A. Timmons is listed as Ambrose Timmons.
I am able to find him in the 1870 census in Young County, TX. He is living Alexander Timmons, but he is listed after all the younger children. He is also listed with three "other" men (possible ranch hands?).
If you would like me to send you documentation, I will be more than happy. If you totally disagree with my conclusions, no worries. Just trying to help future researchers.
|K Sanchez||Parents of Alexander Ambrose Timmons|
I am curious how you determined his parentage. The couple was married in 1846, but A. A. Timmons was born in 1844. While, that certainly doesn't mean a definite error, I have seen copies of the 1850 census and the 1860 census (when he would have been 4 and 14). He isn't included on either census.
In fact, if you go to their Find A Grave memorial pages, the maintainer of their memorial pages listed their children -- but not an Alexander Ambrose Timmons.
I think it is reasonable that he was related, but I question that this couple was his parents.

I have never seen the photos of my Aunt Emily... I am so glad you took the time to tell a story. I would love to receive more stories on Flora Lindley Brown and Marshall Edward Brown

My wife's uncles visited JJ's grave last week in Eliasville. They just recently got out of the hospital and were determined to find it. Your directions were spot on. You made their day. Thanks so much. Jim.
