Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Carol and I reside in N.E. Atlanta.

My Dad began this amazing journey in finding our heritage. While on this journey we had discovered so many relatives and friends.

Peternal Lineage ...

Hape ~ Rogers ~ Puderbach ~ Putnam ~ Gibbs ~ Hall ~ Naill ~ Ecker ~ Engel ~ Reifsnider ~ King ~ Robbins ~ Thompson ...

Maternal Lineage ...

Hunt ~ Edwards ~ Harris ~ Brown ~ Clay ~ Simmons ~ Wingate ~ Maddox/Maddux ~ Knott ~ LeSueur ~ Stinson ~ Hopper ~ Bryant ~ Harper ~ Wyatt ~ Tyler ~ Strother ~ Shy/Shi ~ Chastain ~ Hancock ~ Batte ~ Birchett/Burchett ~ Judkins ~ Polk ~ McLarty ~ Eidson ~ Daniell ...

Most of these memorials are based on personal research from my family history (birth, death, marriage, military & other records). Other information was taken from grave markers or obituaries that I've discovered over the years. Cannot guarantee the accuracy of all these memorials, but believe most of them to be correct.

Will be glad to make memorial transfers upon request that is if related. Would very much like to hear from you and should you have any additional information and if there are any corrections to be made, please let me know.

Job Taylor Cemetery -- Long family graves
Georgia Girl,
I uploaded a photo for a grave marker I believe belongs to Eugene Long. Inscription reads:
Children of Wm H and Sarah M. Long. 'Sleep sweetly little Boys neath the cold dreary tomb' Since Eugene was a toddler, this attribution feels appropriate. However, the marker clearly points to more than one child.

Taylor Long was 22 years old when he passed, and this is the only other Long memorial associated Job Taylor Cemetery. Our survey of the cemetery found no other marker for any other Long family member. I would be happy to upload the same photo if you think it is appropriate to link to Taylor. I do not have my "Monroe county: A History" text with me.

Can you shed any light on this?

RE: Mary Mott Warthen Taylor ~ #32597741
Thank you so much for the transfer of the Mary Taylor memorial page, Georgia Girl. I was happy to have the opportunity to provide an image of Camilla's monument. It really is lovely, isn't it? I worked to locate the cemetery for some time, and was only able to do so with the help of many wonderful folks. Feeling grateful...

Sarah Eugenie "Bacon" Lenard
Hi Georgia Girl,

Regarding your memorial for Sarah Eugenia "Bacon" Lenard in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Ouachita Parish, LA, do you have a familial connection to this person? She's a grandmother to my wife who is attempting to verify Native American ancestry.

Susan Bonner Reeves Mapp
Could you please correct the information for Susan Bonner Mapp (Reeves). Information states she is the daughter of John Howell and Jane (Harper) Reeves. However, the parental links is Allen Howell Reeves and Jane Harper.
Could you please remove the reference of John Howell and replace with Allen.

Thank you,

Tina Hunt

Mary Frances Durham Taylor #32530594
Georgia Girl,
Would you be kind enough to transfer Mary Frances Durham Taylor's memorial page to me? I am maintaining the page for her husband, Benjamin Franklin Taylor. They are my 2nd-great-grandparents.
Many thanks, Joy Can Member #48838500

RE: Francis Henry Springer ~ #88409450
Yes, the first Section & Lot are the city system, the second Section & Lot are in Dolores Autry's "Historic Linwood Cemetery" book. The Historic Linwood Foundation recently put the city map on their website, so that can now be used to help locate a lot (unless it is in the Old Cemetery section). But if someone is using the book instead, they need to know where the lot is according to Autry's system. The other reason it is helpful to include both is that many of the unmarked graves are not in Autry's book, but if someone can find a marked grave in Autry's book that is near the unmarked grave, it can help them locate the unmarked one on the ground - but only if the marked one has the lot designations from both systems. I realize that may sound complicated, but it really will help folks locate graves. Thanks - John

William "Wiley" Abercrombie
Our Georgia Journal record of the announcement of Wiley Abercrombie's death ran in the issue of September 16, 1829 and states that he died on the "14th instant." I have not read the microfilm personally but the person who abstracts these items is usually right. James P. Marshall, Jr., Presdent, Eatonton-Putnam [GA] Historical Society, Inc.;

Rebecca Abercrombie Hurt
You may want to add married Spencer Hurt, Sr. on 24 December 1817 in Putnam County, GA. We also believe that Rebecca's father Wiley (as he is known in all our county legal records) and his wife Eliza M. Abercrombie are both buried in the Old Union Church cemetery in Eatonton in graves that were once marked but there are no surviving tombstones for them. This cemetery suffered mightily from vandalism and neglect over the years. It opened officially in the fall of 1818 as the second burying ground in Eatonton. It lies directly across the Church Street from my home, about 400 feet or so. Suggestion made by James P. Marshall, Jr., President, Eatonton-Putnam County [GA] Historical Society, Inc.;
