Please use Suggest a correction, I dont get on here like I used too and when I do I can fix them.|
People have been submitted by spreadsheets over the years. Attempts have been made to eliminate living people and duplicates. If you believe a living person is included, you should submit proof to me via findagrave correction. Just because there is no date on a headstone does not mean someone is alive.
Google and other searches do not prove someone is alive, I can google many people in my tree that google would show to be well over 100 years old that I know in fact are dead.
Yes, I know there is an edit button no kidding. I will get to it as I can. Fortunately, I do not live on this site.
While I have thousands of memorials at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Rochester. They are all added based on the actual records in the office. In many cases these records only listed people as Mr. Ms, Miss. exc... I choose to leave these records as they are unless someone has added a headstone and the dates match the cemetery index I have in my posession.
Unfortunately I used to change them as unknown but I have learned over time people assume they are there family when in fact they are not and the dates do not match at all per the records of the cemetery.
Because of this reason it takes me some time to vent the record changes at this particular cemetery because I look each and every record up as time allows to ensure the accuracy.

Thank you for your wonderful photos, Daryl. I was pleased to find this image for Jerutia Orton, but as I looked closely, I saw there was a bit of a poem at the base of the gravestone. Is it possible that it would be legible in your original photo?
I recognize that you have posted a tremendous number of photos, and if it is not easy for you to locate the photo and send the transcription of that poem, I understand.

The memorial number for the Henry Hulet gravestone in Bushnell Cemetery is #23046424
|Meredith Aul||Henry Hulet|
Some time ago you and Bob Coomber helped me place a stone for my several great grandfather, Joseph Graves, who was a patriot, buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
I am trying to locate the parents of my 3rd great grandfather, John Hulett who was born in 1802 and died in 1877. He is buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery also. I have several pieces of information, but cannot put the puzzle together. His oldest son was named Henry. I know he lived in Wayne County in about 1812 and was somehow related to Silas P. Hulett of Sodus, NY. I saw the gravestone photo you have on Find-A-Grave of Henry Hulet, died October 12, 1825. I cannot read the age listed underneath and wonder if you post that. Could he have been the father of John? Someone of Ancestry Message Boards said that Henry is father of Silas P. Hulett. I think is incorrect -- Silas was the son of Lt. Mason Hulett and Elizabeth Matthewson. Trying to figure out if Henry and his wife Rohoda could have been parents to my John Hulett. Thanks very much for all your work.
|Buddy Leech||Charles H Downings in Mount Hope Cemetery|
Should there be Memorials for two Charles H Downings buried in Mount Hope Cemetery? There is currently only Find A Grave Memorial# 11487437, but there once was also Find A Grave Memorial# 32060571.
Thanks, Buddy Leech

I'm working on a genealogy for a client whose ancestry traces back to the Selby family. We would like to include the tombstone photo you added to for Jeremiah Selby (memorial #45575824) in a book which will be published and distributed to family members and libraries in the areas where the families resided.
May I have your permission to use this photo with a full citation of its source listing you as the contributor of the photo? My client is assuming all costs for the books and there will be no profit made from the publication.
|Karon Bosze||Correction for Rose Cemetery Entry|
Daryl thank for the work you've done in NY state. I believe my grandmother's name is recorded incorrectly. You have it as Adelaide M Bosze. I've not been to Rose or NY state since about 1971 and my grandmother died in May 1975. My dad handled her funeral arrangements. Her name her adult life was Adelaide Bosze and her social security account may have been registered as Adelade E Bosze, although she hated the "E" name she was given at birth. Her birth name was Emma Adelaide Wise and went by Adelaide Bosze after her marriage to my grandfather in 1921. The headstone for her, though. may have been engraved incorrectly.
