Bio and Links
Bio Photo I took over after my Aunt Geraldine Martinez passed. This is all new to me but I have become addicted in finding where my family members rest. No one should be forgotten.

I was born in Alexandria, Virginia and now resides in Florida.

I am researching, on my fathers side of the family, Rhodes, Walters, Wright & Brockman in Virginia. On my mothers side, Lytle, Channing, Hayden & Moore in Pennsylvania. And for my Grandchildren, Greene, Caudill. Hutchinson & Vallance's in Kentucky.

I have noticed that I am not the only one impatient with the tokens coming up and I end up with two. I found that if you click on the flowers it will take you to a link to delete the extra one. =)

I have also found a link to calculate birth dates, so when you only have a date of death & the headstone gives you their years it will give you the date of birth. http://longislandgenealogy.com/birth.html

I have met the most wonderful people with Find-a-Grave. What a great family we have here. Thank you all for doing what you do.

Everyone has been so generous with their photos that I would like to reciprocate. You may use my photos in you family trees. All I ask is for a thank you and recognition from whom you got them.

Happy Hunting =)

Strangers in the Box

By Pamela A. Harazim

Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like.
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where, when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be tossed away?
Make time to save your pictures,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.

Rhodes Cemetery, Henderson County TN
I went out and looked for the cemetery today, but couldn't find it. I was using Google Maps and I think it had the roads in the wrong place or something. It kept taking us down a road to someone's house and farm land which was near Watson Road (where the cemetery supposedly is). I knocked on the door to ask if they knew where the cemetery was, but no one answered. I may try again sometime soon because I was looking forward to finding it. I believe the cemetery is off in the woods near farm land, so it may be on private property. I'm not sure.

Rhodes Cemetery
I would say there's a good chance William and Rebecca could be buried there. I will definitely go and check the cemetery out, and see if I can find them (and their son), as well as take photos of the other graves there. I'm not sure how soon I will be able to do it (I would do this everyday if I could) but it should be sometime in the next few weeks; hopefully this Saturday. Also, thanks for the warm welcome. :)

Hi Melba,

While I can't be 100% sure, my guess is that this is the same James and Edith or Edythe Rutledge. The odds would be against these people being another couple. Wish I could be more help to you, but that would be my guess.

Regards,
Karl

Yes, I have Neimiller also although I see some have shortened it to Miller. Thanks, Jo!

Oh sorry, that was kind of confusing. When I said Magdalena, I was really referring to her mother. Pennsylvania German's often use the middle name rather than the first name. So her first name was Mary?

Walters/Brockman/Wright
Dear Melva,
Walters on my mom's side seem to be from Scotland going way back. Mom's maiden name is Smith. Brockman and I think also Wright are in
my Dad's family tree. His last name is Redding.
Do you belong to Ancestry.com? I have my Smith
and Redding tree under: Coffell & Redding family
tree. Laura from Ks.
