People have been submitted by spreadsheets over the years. Attempts have been made to eliminate living people and duplicates. If you believe a living person is included, you should submit proof to me via findagrave correction. Just because there is no date on a headstone does not mean someone is alive.

Google and other searches do not prove someone is alive, I can google many people in my tree that google would show to be well over 100 years old that I know in fact are dead.

Yes, I know there is an edit button no kidding. I will get to it as I can. Fortunately, I do not live on this site.

While I have thousands of memorials at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Rochester. They are all added based on the actual records in the office. In many cases these records only listed people as Mr. Ms, Miss. exc... I choose to leave these records as they are unless someone has added a headstone and the dates match the cemetery index I have in my posession.

Unfortunately I used to change them as unknown but I have learned over time people assume they are there family when in fact they are not and the dates do not match at all per the records of the cemetery.

Because of this reason it takes me some time to vent the record changes at this particular cemetery because I look each and every record up as time allows to ensure the accuracy.

Buried Lyons Rural Cemetery, WWII casualty. A war buddy's son is looking for his middle name. Are you local to Wayne county? If so, who can I ask? Mrs. Mason Porter applied for his national headstone. Don't have her first name or I could check with descendants. Cordially Grace in AK

Herbert and Julia Van Wyk
Lakeview Cemetery, Wayne county NY.
Just thinking about the time you went out to this cemetery to find the burial place for this couple. If I remember correctly you got stuck and had to get a wrecker. I really appreciate you getting the photo of their tombstone and for all you do for findagrave. Happy Thanksgiving.

Dickinson Cemetery in Seneca County, New York USA

I believe the correct spelling of this cemetery is "Dickerson" as it is on the farm land of a local pioneer Charles Dickerson and his wife Nancy. It is known by the county historians as Dickerson Farm Cemetery.

A map and an index of interments can be found in a book at the Ovid Library called "Some Cemeteries of the Between the Lakes Country" (Portions of Seneca, Schuyler, and Tompkins Counties, N.Y., collected by J. H. Finch and others, compiled and edited by Carl W. Fischer and Harriet J. Swick, printed by The Interlaken Review, 1974. 3 vols. Published under the sponsorship of the Chief Taughannock Chapter, D.A.R., Trumansburg, New York, 1974

David Covert Cemetery
Hi Daryl,
I appreciate the contributions you have made to Find-a-Grave. I have additional information on the interments at the David Covert Cemetery provided by the current property owners and S.A.R. May I add it through this website or would you like me to send it to you?

I suddenly realized that both of the memorials with the sign are in the same cemetery, and are duplicates, both entered by you. Sorry for the confusion.
