I have been involved in cemetery research since 2004, concentrating on old sites in Claiborne County, Mississippi. I love the peace and solitude that comes with surveying an old site and "discovering" whose name will be on the next stone. My goal is to put together a historical and geographical sketch of Claiborne County, based on cemetery locations, 1800's marriage records and will records. I get a thrill out of being able to put people in touch with their long-lost ancestors. I will always be happy to transfer any memorials to their relatives or other loved ones. And despite my e-mail address, I do NOT dig up bones!|

Appreciations for the grave photos from the 1st cousin 2X removed who lives 1300 miles away and provided the portrait of Anna for the site.

Thank you so much for getting those photos so quickly for this memorial. While in Vicksburg last month I managed to find most of the family, but wasn't able to find this one. I appreciate your work so much. Carmen Gibson

Cool, thanks for getting back to me! No familiar names, I'll guess have to dig deeper to solve this mystery!

I came across Kenneth Andrews Wright on findagrave today...do you happen to have records of the headstones nearby? I'm just trying to make sense of my digging--it seems he was born in MA, died in IL, and buried in MS.
I'm hoping there's some nearby family members that would make sense of all of that.
Thanks for all of your work!

William, thank you so very much. This is the second of the Carmichael children I have found by accident. This has been a hard family for me to trace from my home in Canada, but I have had a great deal of help.

Re: Katherine Carmichael Heard wife of S.C. Heard, daughter of George D. Carmichael and Sarah Aletha Ford Carmichael.
May I please use the photo of the headstone you have taken for Katherine?
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
