As a lifetime history buff, and having lived near some old cemeteries, it is only "natural" that the two are now combined.
I've catalogued all the Confederate fallen in the Spotsylvania Confederate Cemetery in Spotsylvania Courthouse, Va. I will soon publish a roster/book with these findings and short bios/service records of these men. A copy will be presented to the Spotsylvania Courthouse Museum.
Also, I'm in the process of doing the same for the Confederate fallen and veterans in the Fredericksburg Confederate and City cemeteries.

As Historian of the above cemeteries, please feel free to inquire of any Confederate burials.
Also, I give tours of each.

The Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County Battlefields National Park Service refers Confederate burial inquiries to me.

#12782974 - Benjamin T. Spindle
Greetings BigFrench,

Thank you so much for your many and continuing contributions to this area of research. I have relied on several of your contributions in my research.

I am also writing to ask you to consider some information I have that I believe applies to the Subject Find a Grave memorial created for a Benjamin T. Spindle (#12782974). I think that this Benjamin T. Spindle (1842- 11 Sept 1910) has been inadvertently combined with another Benjamin T. Spindle (1835-1898) & that the military information on the memorial actually belongs to the latter.

The 1835-1898 Benjamin Thomas Spindle's line is James Addison Jr., James Addison Sr., William Sr., John Sr. This Benjamin initially served in the Texas Legion, but resigned to return to Virginia where he joined up with Col. Mosby. This Benjamin's 1st wife had died in Texas even before the War began. This Benjamin was with Mosby's group (along with his brother, Robert Leachman Spindle). This Benjamin & brother Robert, are both interred in Saint John's Episcopal Church Cemetery in Centreville, Virginia (Fairfax County.) This Benjamin has a Find a Grave memorial #17271657 (FYI- Robert's is 20022032).

The 1842-1910 Benjamin T. Spindle's line is Paul, Mordecai, John Jr., John Sr. {The two Benjamin's share X2 great grandfather (i.e., John Sr who is also my X5 great grandfather and both Benjamins and I are all "cousins" of varying distance.}

I appreciate you "hearing me out;" hope I've provided clear enough information, and that you will adjust the Subject memorial.

Thanks in advance.

Another Spindle

Hi Dan,
I have the U.S. Census records for 1850 & 1860 showing the parents and names of their children and living in Jasper Co., MS . I also have military papers for the sons, (when Samuel died his father claimed his effects).

RE: Robb family cemetery
i did add one more picture to the Bernard-Robb cemetery profile. the full picture of Philip Robb marker is on the left side of the pic so you can see what the whole thing looks like.

RE: Philip Robb pic
I was only given access for a very brief period of time so I quickly took as many pictures as I could. Sorry I could not get them all in better detail. I can tell you the top of his marker is a simple cross over the base. This format was repeated for a large majority of the graves in this cemetery.

RE: Bennett, Stewart marker pics
Happy to help--I saw that Charles H. Stewart shares a monument with his parents, Chas. G. and Elza S. Stewart, and I sent you a link request. Perhaps admin can transfer the parents to your care.

I would have to re-research how I determined he was buried at Fredericksburg, VA Confederate Cemetery. At the time I created his memorial, I was fairly certain he could be buried there.

Thanks so much for the transfer. I appreciate it. Last July we made a trip to Fredericksburg just to find his grave. Thanks for all you do. Joyce aka Birdgirl
