RE: Jesse Pelton date of death
Bonnie,
The 1850 census finds Ruhama in Gustavus, Trumbull Co., OH, age 67 born CT, states widow of Jesse, others listed are Sally D. age 38 (Philena Sally is the d/o Julius Pelton and Hannah Folsom-Julius is the brother of Jesse) dau. Cynthia L. 29 born OH, Sydney R. 27 born OH, a student of medicine, apparently son of Jesse and Ruhamma although when he married Sarah Ann Breckenridge it lists mother as Loraine?, son Tensard D. 24 born OH,and Alicia Anna 12 born OH, not sure of relationship to Ruhama. One record indicates Jesse died 1882 & buried @ Dilworth, another 1862. I did not find a census for Jesse for 1850 but did find one for 1860 with Jesse living with his son Joseph D. Pelton. Apparently Ruhama and Jesse were not together in 1850 or 1860. So I guess that is where the confusion comes in. Ruhama DeWolf Pelton 1783-1872 is buried Logan Cem.

Saul and Eva Bane
Bonnie, you asked me Could you please remove Eva as Saul's wife. From my family records, Saul is Eva's uncle. But when I removed her on my end and accepted your edit, Eva appeared again as his spouse. Am I missing something?

Lavinia/Lovina (McCleery) Clark
Nothing like a delayed response. You asked me the below question back in May. I have no knowledge of this line of McCleerys. I do know that some McCleerys were in Howland, but their connection to my side of the family is unknown. No one on my side had ever even mentioned them.
Dean

Hi Dean, Please check out memorial #130014245

Cordelia's mother was Lavinia/Lovina (McCleery) Clark. Do you know who Lavina's parents are?

Thank you for any help you can give.

Civil War soldier
Hi Bonnie,

Regarding Pvt James D. Young, mem #79317440, in Old Burying Ground, Highland Co, Ohio, I'm dubious about the dates shown. If he died Jun 10, 1882 ay age 24, his birth year would have been 1858. Now we know the Civil War broke out in 1861, so he would have been a 3-year old boy then.

The regimental roster for the 81st Ohio Infantry does not show a Pvt Young in Company G but does show a Chaplain James Young in Field & Staff, who enlisted 11 Feb 1863 at the age of 38. Thus he would have been born about 1825.

Can you please clarify?

Dan
