Thoughts of my loved ones are my reminders that they too think of and watch over me.|
My passion at find-a-grave is reuniting children with their parents and siblings. For so many years and miles their names have been separated and unconnected.
I appreciate every photo taken for me and will do the same for anyone that I can. I also equally appreciate the transfers of management and will transfer to families of those I am not connected to also.
My permission is hereby granted to anyone who wants to download, copy, or use any photos that I have posted on the Find-A-Grave website.
I sincerely hope that I have helped others make the connections that they have been trying to make.
Virtual flowers are appreciated.

Could you please transfer Catharine Oldrin #120755619 buried in Woodland CT to me #48224322? She is an ancestor, and I would like to add some biographical information.

Probably this happened in the Spring of 1922. John Vance and his classmates were in the Aledo High School gym getting it ready for the Prom. Someone made a comment about John, as Class Treasurer, possibly he had misappropriated some funds. John denied it and the subject ""petered out." But, my dad, Ralph Gustafson, never one to let a good argument go, kept on picking at the subject until the boys were engaged in some sort of a tussle. Someone hissed, "The Superintendent is coming!" The guys ducked into the Boy's bathroom and wiped off their faces and slicked down their hair. The Superintendent walked into the room and looking at John said, "Is everything all right, John." John replied, "Yes, Sir, it's fine." He turned to Ralph and said, "And, you, Ralph, you're all right?" "Yes Sir, I'm fine, Sir."
The boys returned to the gym and it got decorated and we hope that everyone had a good time.

Hi, First of all, I need to say that I am not related to John. I have known his younger brother Rex all my life as he was a good friend to both my parents and was married to my mother's first cousin once removed. John and my dad were students in Aledo High School and I have a funny story told to me about them by one of their classmates. Would you want to post this very "typical" boy story that features John as well as my dad?

Hi Graveyard Walker,
Thank you for your kind response. I was wondering if there is a way to find the lot numbers. I would like to add that to the profiles.
Thank you for all you do!

I re-read all the instructions. It's the administrative staff at Find A Grave that decides if the picture is within their standards to be the main photo which is replicated to the individual memorials. The cemetery photo must be the main gate, the cemetery sign, or a view of the cemetery. In the two cases where I posted photos I posted the church which is the main building next to the graveyard. In one case I posted an old photo of a church which was destroyed in a flood and rebuilt on higher ground but a few of the old cemetery stones still stand in the old location. In another case I posted the current church, with a corner of the cemetery showing. In both cases the photo does not actually show the cemetery or help one recognize the cemetery entrance from the road. In the second case some of the deceased are actually entombed inside the church, but most are out in the graveyard. Thus it wouldn't be appropriate to replicate the church photo to all memorials. It appears the administrative staff have left my photos in place but have chosen not to copy to all memorials since they don't comply with the guidelines. I have asked a local to get a broad view of the cemetery at Trementino.

Hi Graveyard Walker,
First I want to thank you for all your contributions, photographs and dedication to linking families. That is such gift to families and genealogists.
I have been photographing the cemetery for a genealogy site and added photos to Find A Grave where there wasn't one. If you had been working on them, or had photos to add already, please feel free to delete the ones I added and add your own.
Your work is deeply appreciated.

I'm hoping you can help. I recently set up or added photos to a few memorials and also photos of a cemetery for a friend. On the individual's page the photo for the cemetery doesn't show. Find a Grave Help says the cemetery photo will automatically show on each memorial. An example is 60278418 which you created. I added the photos, and I added a photo of the cemetery church on the main page (which was approved by Find A Grave staff). Why doesn't the cemetery photo show on the memorial 60278418? In all other memorials I've looked at, the cemetery photo is always below the person and grave photo. Do you have that feature turned off? Or have I added the cemetery photo incorrectly some how? It isn't just this cemetery. I have the same problem on another cemetery where added the photo for the cemetery, none of the memorials display the cemetery photo. I thought with your long experience you might know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.
Thank you for your prompt edits. I appreciate it!
