For as long as I can remember my family has routinely visited our local cemetery. Young and old attend to the graves of our ancestors and reflect on those various individuals that have touched our lives. It seems to be a way for the adults to keep those departed individuals fresh in their memories and serves as an opportunity to pass on family history to younger family members. In our case, the cemetery is a very park like setting, located on a lake shore, and is a very pleasant place to visit.

Over the years I have found that cemeteries are an excellent place to take break as I travel. It's a chance to get out of the vehicle for a while, take a walk in a quiet setting, and to learn a little about the local area. Now, as I make these stops, I try to take random photos of headstones that provide a cross-section of those who are laid to rest there.

It is my hope that the photos and information posted to Find-A-Grave will be of interest to individuals who are working to document local or family histories. Please feel free to contact me if you spot any errors in my postings or if you have photos or information you would like me to add.

Please Note: I have not been active for some time and I only check this site on occasion. Please be patient when I am slow to reply to you requests.
