74 years of age, and while residing in Cordova [Memphis] TN, call St Petersburg, FL home. My dad's side of the family, properly "Breighner", settled in the Gettysburg, PA area in the mid 1700's while my mom's Cooks settled in the Woodstock, VA area of the Shenandoah Valley at about that same time. |
In the included photo is the home in which I was born in Lorain, Ohio from which my parents also operated a bakery with the larger equipment in the cellar and the nearer half of the home on the first floor being devoted to a breakfast/lunch/delivery service.
Served 4 years in USMC 1958 to 1962 and two years in the Army 1964 and 1965 with a tour in Vietnam.
Besides Find-a-Grave and Ancestry, the wife and I seek individuals for class reunions, especially if the 50th, as a hobby. Given the name to including the middle initial, and the place of birth, we are usually about 95% successful. Have a 50th coming up?, feel free to call on us.
A profile is a brief of oneself, and have more interest in my family and fullness of a memorial page than some other's conditions of participation and/or personal policies which are redundant to that of Find-a-Grave in any case.

As far as the Cooks, I'd have to look in to them a little. It might not be the Cook name in Viginia but another branch of the family I'll have to ask my brother-in-law if he knows the surname from that area. Jane

Hi Larry, I'm sorry I don't have any info on Thelma. I only found them by going through the daily papers recording anyone buried at Holy Redeemer. There's a local database online with obits and death notices but they don't always have the more "recent" ones so I can't replicate my findings. Rather than remove her name I will put a note that her relationship is unconfirmed. That way anyone like yourself can dig in to her, no pun intended. If you find this was wrong just let me know and I'll remove her. Thanks. Jane

Hi Larry, Thanks for the edits you sent for Henry Breighner although I did change one thing you sent. You listed his DOB as 9/30 but his Social Security records say he was born 9/23. He died 9/30. That being said however I see you are an expert on Breighners so if you'd like him transferred to you just say the word. Coincidentally, in your bio you said you are interested in the Cook family in the Shenandoah Valley. I am married to a Cook and his family still has property there. If you'd like info on his tree let me know. Jane Feldmann Cook

Thanks for confirming my thoughts on her parents, and shame on me for missing her middle name in her obit. After finding then photographing the entire small cemetery I spent considerable time researching in an attempt to find the real names of the sisters buried there, any confirmation or new information regarding any of them is always appreciated.

Larry, very, very glad that I could help you with this! Helping sort out mysteries to these early Adams/York PA families helps make the research worth it! Please let me know if you are able to find anything more regarding their family, and I will be happy to add to her biography. Matt

Not a close relative. Just looking through my Conewago records and thought I'd add what I found. Debbie

Hi, Larry. The markers in the area with Alfred Tucker were: Essola Tucker (Mem# 59268338), Edgar Tucker (Mem# 35296180), Clarence Tucker ( Mem # 59268297), . I posted photos of these markers to the memorials. There was already a photo on the memorial of Lela Tucker( Mem # 59268363). There IS a memorial for a James Tucker Jr., 1922-1993 (Mem # 59268346). I'm not sure if this is who you are looking for, but I did NOT see a marker in the area for him. Hope this helps.

Re your photo request. I just finished mowing this cemetery. It is the worse I have seen in terms of destroyed or toppled monuments. I have no idea whether it is due to vandalism, deer or topography. Unless someone does some major restoration the ability to locate, much less photograph this stone is unlikely. Sorry.

Hello...I am a descendant of John H. Brickner's wife Ellen "Nellie" Dolan Brickner. Her sister Jane "Jennie" Dolan Duff was my 2nd great grandmother. Have you ever seen a photo of Ellen? I have a very large collection of unknown photos, which are very old, some coming from photography studios in Decorah Iowa where John Brickner and the Dolans came from. Perhaps you could help identify some? I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you!

Hello. I took a photo of Frank T. Cooke's marker in Beverly National Cemetery. I notice on your listing for him, it shows a different spelling of the last name. Perhaps the family changed the spelling? Anyway, I posted the photo to his page but thought that maybe you would like to make a notation about the different spellings on the last name. Warm regards.
