Duplicates: There are quite a few duplicate cemeteries and memorials being made. PLEASE do your research before adding anything. Read the Cemetery Guidelines and Memorial Guidelines first. They may answer any question(s) you have.
I will be happy to do transfers of direct lines as per FAG guidelines(parents, siblings, grandparents and great grandparents). Anyone else, I'll be happy to make corrections or additions. (Aunts, Uncles, & Cousins are not considered by FAG as direct lines)
I am employed by New London Presbyterian Church as Facility and Grounds manager. I got interested in Findagrave after finding multiple people wandering through our cemetery looking for names that I knew weren't in there. I went to another local cemetery and found most of the names that had been listed incorrectly on F.A.G. in our cemetery .
I have now gotten most existing listings that were incorrect fixed. I have added photo's for all existing listings that are correct.I am now in the process of adding all others. If you see info that is not on the stone that I have added, it is from cemetery records. Take it for what it's worth.I am always willing to change or update anything if you have better info. I also have information about many of the listings if that is helpful to anyone.
Please feel free to ask for any help with our cemetery, I will do my best to do whatever is asked.

|Gathering Roots||Why there are so many duplicates in some cemeteries|
Dear Concerned Find-A-Gave Contributors and visitors,
Regarding: DUPLICATE MEMORIALS in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia,Rockingham Va,Hardy WV and surrounding area.
A former large volume F-A-G Contributor had a dispute with Find-A-Grave staff and Deleted some 80% or more, of their contributed memorials, estimated to be about 40,000 or so. Thus causing the rest of us local Contributors, over the last year or more, to re-enter those family, friends and distant relatives we noted were missing.
Once F-A-G had decided to take positive action, they reloaded all the Deleted memorials from that former F-A-G Contributor, on Wednesday, 25feb2015. F-A-G staff, undoubtedly knew they would cause tens of thousands of Duplicates, and assigned their staffer, known as 'ProjectMgr' to work through their Merge process.
Please be patient and allow F-A-G to work through the entire group of Duplicate memorials.
E49 Created above Statement

I could not find his grave so I added a virtual one (#165301109). Can you combine it with your's? Or just copy the information and I will delete it. But be sure and link his first wife (Elsie) and get his 2nd wife's maiden name.

|Betty Engle Stoddard||Jane Leche Graham & her father, Walter Scott Finey Graham|
Jeff, thank you so much for your diligent work with the New London Presbyterian Cemetery.
In the past 48 hours I have discovered that my maternal grandfather (b. 1864) had a half-sister. My mother and her father were diligent about family records and genealogy so this new information is most interesting and surprising both.
Jane Leche Graham (b.1851) is buried there in this cemetery. Her father, Walter Scott Finey Graham, is buried there as well. His birth year is 1820, although it states unknown on Find A Grave. He died when he was 34, from an illness that must have swept through Newark, DE and the then-Delaware College's faculty and students.
With Jane's death a month later I can only suppose that she succumbed to the same rampaging illness. I'd not ever researched where my great-grandmother's first husband, WSF Graham, was buried until I read that they had an infant daughter. Delaware College papers where he was president only a few years due to his early death tell details of his contributions and his untimely demise.
Elizabeth Eleanor Leche Graham Crawford was my great-grandmother. Several years after Mr. Graham's death, she married a second time; this time to one of the philosophy professors at Delaware College--my great-grandfather. She's buried next to her Crawford spouse, three sons and their families, including her two of her granddaughters. in Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, VA.
I would especially like to know the locations of Jane L. Graham's grave and her father's. Are they close to each other? The gravestones don't seem to indicate any relationship to each other.
I do hope in the written records there is a notation which links father and daughter. If there happen to be any photographs of the stones, would you be willing to post those, please?
Much appreciation for your helps.
Elizabeth (Betty) Engle Stoddard
PS: If helpful to add this message to the cemetery records, please by all means do include this information.
|P.K. Magruder||Duplicate for Farrell Sanborn|
Thank you for letting me know about the potential duplicate.
I do search before creating a memorial in a cemetery
The contributor who posted the photos to mine normally will not post to a duplicate
The person with the original memorial appears to have an inordinate number of "burial unknowns" (over 50%), most of whom are service related
Please send a merge request to Find A Grave. They can see who had the correct person in the correct cemetery first. I do not wish to encourage someone who is a serial "burial unknown" contributor.

The information I used came from ancestry.com as part of the Pennsylvania Church Records Collection.
Not sure why so many names have alternate, unconventional spellings, even with those that are part of my family tree.
The record lists ages, birth and death dates where available, and relationships. I've deleted my entries just the same.
Please see spelling of name on my memorial photo, not sure where you are getting your info, but I am guessing many of them will be inaccurate since I am in control of all official cemetery records and have added memorials from that info.
