Bio Photo I am currently researching my family connections to these families: Bozeman, Poole, Bliss, Murray, Robbins, Jones, and Story.
I welcome contacts from others researching these families. I am retired and this is my full time hobby-- along with traveling this great USA!

I am a volunteer in many cemeteries. Feel free to ask me for your relatives/friends, etc. I would be DELIGHTED to transfer any you need/WANT. NO explanation necessary! You may right click and copy ANY PHOTOS I have posted with my blessing! Glad to help! Have a Blessed day! JESUS SAVES!

RE: Lucy Walker photo, Columbus, GA
You are so welcome! I am pretty familiar with this cemetery since we have quite a bit of family buried there on my husband's side. I had just about given up and before I left I saw some headstones with the name Vardamann and I knew that she had to be close. I moved on to the next plot area and there she was. She does have another stone next to her but you can barely see the writing on it. I was not sure if it could have been her husband, Jeptha J. Walker. I will have to go back with a some paper and a pencil and see if I can get a name off of it. There also was another stone in that one family plot area. If you would like I can go and check it out and give you a name. Let me know if there are any other names you would like for me to look for there. I am from the Columbus, Ga. and Fort Benning area.

Thanks for info...have posted.
Do you know where the Mcwhirter comes from in his spouses name??? Was it a middle name OR from a previous marriage? I am related to the Mcwhirters and no one in family can place her. Thought you might know.

RE: Alma Gunn, minnieJones and others
ALMA GUNN, fyi, was the daughter not of john Benton Gunn and his 1st wife, but of his 2nd wife, who was also originally his sister in law.
1st wife (my line) was Martha "Mattie" Bussey; 2nd wife, her older sister, was Virginia "Jenny" Bussey. I will look for Alma's burial in Dawson (Terrell Co Ga, where JB Gunn marr both sisters), and perhaps 1st wife, Martha Bussey Gunn was also bur. there, as she does not appear to be buried in Tifton, where JBG and Jenny, and JBG's daughter Minnie & her husband & infant are biried. I was there last month and visited them all ...

RE: Alma Gunn, minnieJones and others
Alma Gunn is the daughter of my JOHN BENTON GUNN and his 2nd wife (who was his sister in law), Virginia "Jennie" Bussey Gunn.
Alma died very young, 18 I believe, the same month her older sister, Minnie Gunn Jones (my ancestor ) died. Minnie was 32.
I was at Jennie and John and Minnie's gravesites last month in GA, but do not see Alma buried there (Oak Ridge Cem in Tifton). Perhaps Alma was buried in Enigma where they lived.
E.F. Bussey, Jennie's brother (or nephew) is also buried with them.
As well as C.I. Jones, Minnie's husband.

Martha Arnold Higgs Beverfly
Benjamin Franklin Higgs became ill while in CSA service, and was sent home on furlough. He died on the train, while traveling home. Some records state "He died and was put off in a small Georgia town" Others state that "He died, and was put off in Macon, Georgia", and that he is buried in the Confederate Cemetery there. None appear to be accurate.

Great Grandmother outlived Great Grandfather William Beverly by some 10 years. In their last years, they lived with my maternal Grandparents, Samuel, and Josephine Thomas, fairly close to Ben James Cemetery, in pierce County, Georgia.

William and Martha were Mormons, and members of Little Utah Church, at Axson, Georgia. The church is gone now, but the cemetery is still very active. For this reason, although the death certificate may state otherwise, I seriously doubt that they ever entertained the idea of being buried anywhere other than Little Utah.

RE: Inez Sorrels Bliss, Florida
Inez has two living sons; James A. Bliss of Land o' Lakes, FL and Charles Alan Bliss of Lutz, FL. You might try looking them up in the white pages and maybe finding phone numbers for them. I wish you luck in your search.
