|I am a late comer to the "Find a grave", and several people have been very generous in sharing their sites. I have been researching both sides of my family and both sides of my husband's family for many years, along with collateral lines. I have had the good fortune to be the recipient of old pictures, newspaper articles, and old obituaries. Very few of the obituaries were marked with the name of the newspaper they were printed in, but much of the information they contained was invaluable. Even though I have printed a number of family books the "Find a grave", site seemed a great place to insure that our ancestor's memory would be preserved. |

Awesome, you are my 2nd cousin 1 time removed. I remember mama (Ada Carol) talking about Frieda. I have some old pics of mama and aunt evelyn and a bunch of girls and I bet you are in them. Do you have any old pics you'd like to share. I will be glad to send to you. My email address is email@example.com

Is this Frieda Curtis? Is Wister your grandfather? My Papa (Richard H. Curtis Sr.) lived with William f. Dickey. He is on the 1900 census. Yes, they are half brothers. thanks, Debbie
I am Ada Carol Wright Markwell's daughter. John Wright and Lillian Curtis Wright are my grandparents.

Do you have info on Granison Jones' (1863-1924) father Granison Jones I born in Virginia and died in Kentucky after 1870?

Hi. I have been doing research on my family and I keep coming to your entries on Find A Grave. I notice that you manage quite a few memorials for the descendants of Thomas and Nancy (Shackelford) Atkins, including the daughters and their descendants (Dalzells, Goddards, Gardners, etc). They are great! I really appreciate all of the details. Who did you get your obituaries from? Are you an Atkins descendant? Did a relative of yours save the obituaries? I have a great grandmother was also saved lots of things - postcards, letters, newspaper clippings, etc. These sorts of collections are treasure troves. Thanks for the great Find A Grave details!

|Clinton Slayton||John Goddard land in Scott Co KY|
Well, you are technically correct, but I think you should remove the note, because in anticipation of receiving this land from the GLASS estate, he (over the leaf of the GLASS deed page) transferred all of this 112 acres to John Jones, a well-known tavern/inn keeper. I do not think this John Goddard (of Great Crossing) ever retained any lands that approached what became the northern precincts of Scott Co. This was a paper transaction for legal purposes, he had committed to sell it before it was ever transferred to him.

Thanks very much for updating the memorial with the land record, this can help me with a mystery regarding a gravestone for a Lytle's Fork resident that was sent to "Godard, near Georgetown."

Frieda, how nice to hear from you. I do not use my gmail account often so this response has been a long time coming to you.
I surely do remember that delightful afternoon and evening we spent together. You were a big help with my research.
Are you on Facebook? I am. Thanks for messaging me. Nancy
