Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a dedicated & fanatic family historian & have been on THE QUEST since 1955. I can concentrate on my ancestors but get easily side-tracked by in-laws & the cousins of cousins of cousins, if you know what I mean, & if you love family history as much as I do, then you do know!

As of Jan 2013 I DO have a new camera & am trying to get the hang of it all! Which means that I believe I'm able to take on photo requests in the general Victor Valley area!

I've been retired since the year 2000 & now have plenty of time to consolidate my voluminous amount of research.

THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
By Thelma Greene Reagan

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Thank you. You do so much work for all of us. So we can find more information on our loved ones. I've been researching for about all my life starting with my aunt Carrie Mildred Trice and she is gone now but I am still trying to carry on. I am on Ancestry.com and I've put my work in the Montgomery County Library with the Help of Tim Pulley plus the Ganaways
Thanks again
Cindi

RE: Thomas G Sykes
Hello Syd,

Thanks for transferring the memorial. The memorial has been updated and linked to his parents and wife. Someone already posted a photo of the marker. Great to see an image of the marker!

I have been working on locating the graves for all my grandfather's 20 siblings. It has been quite a task!

Thanks again,
Darrin

" I sometimes wish there was a way for admin to notify us when photos are added, in the same way we get notices of 'suggestions' that are made." I so agree on that!

Well enjoy your daughter's wedding and cograts!! :D

Syd, I sincerely apologize for the delay in adding the info to his bio.
I was busy doing much the same, sending corrections/updates on a number of folks, and I sometimes get frustrated on how slow the process can get.
Today I noticed the Tralor information was still not completed so I looked to see who the Bozo was that was taking so long, and it was ME.
'Sorry Carl'
