RE: Michel Fortier Grave #148376594 Although that should be an easy task, it is a bit more complicated due to a glitch in the system. If I delete from this on memorial, it deletes from all associated with this tomb. I will try to get to it tonight but I need enough time to reupload to all the other associated memorials. The photos link them all together.
"picture" on 69692383 Please remove that hard-to-read scan of the newspaper article. Per Find A Grave FAQs the only pictures allowed are of grave markers, people and their families, and death certificates. They are considering a separate area for other documents in the future...thanks!
wrong grave stone pictures Susan a wrong grave stone is pictured on the page for Ruth Marguerite Geohegan (Memorial #140336174) in Oak Hill Cem. in B'ham., AL. The one pictured is for an A'Marie Burkholter. Could you please correct this for me? Really appreciate ALL you do for Find A Grave. Thank you so much.
I did not post those photos on the memorial, and Find A Grave will not let me to remove them. I agree there are duplicates. You will have to notify the person who posted the photos and see if they will delete.
Thank you for all your suggestions but especially for the one for J. Clifford McGreger? I only found a piece of the stone when my brother, dad and I were plotting the cemetery. I'd been working on it long distance and trying to get everyone into the correct plot during short visits home. On that day in 2013, we found part of what appeared to be a handmade stone. We tried tracing the letters, cleaning them gently and we couldn't get much info. As you may or may not know, my brother Rick Mackey died last June and is buried in the cemetery (along with my sister, younger brother, etc.). I noticed at that time that Clifford's (as we thought of him)stone was breaking up even more. I asked my dad to take it up and see about fixing it some way so that the lawn guy wouldn't keep going over it. To our surprise, it is much more that a piece of a headstone. My dad has spent the last 2 weeks uncovering what you saw. He also glued/screwed part of the stone together and tried to darken the name enough that someone might recognize and remember this person. He wants to put a little fence or something around it so it doesn't get buried under all the dirt and grass again. If you have any more information about Jesse Clifford McGreger (sp?) please let me know. Since the cemetery gives away plots, there are many people buried there that don't have anyone to remember them. This is the most distressing thing for me and I'd like to make sure everyone is remembered in some way.
After spending 2 years working on the cememtery and then losing Rick, I just haven't felt up to updating this info. However, having the name Jesse has given me a boost and I'm happy to get back to work on it.
