Cemeteries are such unique places. I enjoy the beauty of sculptures, mausoleums and various items around the interred. The statuary, the iconic images, representative symbols, old rod iron fencing; it is all fascinating. From the most elaborate statue to the simply inscribed piece of wood.

There is so much mystery in a cemetery. Stories that are told and stories to wonder about and stories to find out about.

I am a 4th generation San Franciscan and have lived in Marin County for over three decades.

I enjoy taking photographs of the surroundings and capturing the beauty of the burial plot. I do my best to capture the entire tombstone in as pretty a shot as I can manage. I continually watch for seasonal changes or offerings to capture a better representation of the marker and view.

I spend a great deal of time in cemeteries; both physically and virtually. I photograph and document a select number of cemeteries in the counties of Marin, Sonoma and Mendocino as well as San Francisco and Colma.

I also enjoy researching and adding histories, especially pre-1920's. Love the old West Marin ranching history and the Mendocino logging and nautical history. I enjoy perusing old newspapers and other documents to find people lost to each other and especially connecting orphaned baby memorials to their parents.

I generally stick to the counties I am familiar with as I know the geography, area history, etc.

Please do not send me full obits. If you want to take your time and edit out certain points, please do so, per policy.

I will not post the names of living individuals per policy.

Find A Grave Memorial# 131685494
Hi Collette,

This is my 2nd great uncle. His name was George Everett Brown, son of Daniel Clinton and Mary Elizabeth T Haskins. He was born in Lincoln, Lancaster, Nebraska. I believe his birth date was 25 Jul 1872. (Census and marriage records state this.) HIs wife was Pearl E Haskin.

Husband of Charlotte Christie
For Memorial # 142670161, you have a different Atkinson husband. I believe she is buried with William Burton Atkinson (Memorial #173204046) at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, in Colma. She was the second wife of William Burton Atkinson -- they were probably married in 1927 or 1928. I believe Charlotte's maiden name was Christie; I don't know if she had a previous marriage.

Andrew M Swaney obit
You placed a photo of his obit on his memorial, #99485237, which I have transcribed and added the source. Would you kindly remove your photo which is against Findagrave policy; "Please do NOT add newspaper article or obituary scans. The photo section is reserved for headstone/grave photos and possibly a portrait photo of the person."

I just saw your response. I don't know where to look for response notifications. Any way I went to cemetary and also found my Great Grandmother. Now to find out who she is buried with. Yet another mystery. Thank You Louise

Marker for Marjorie Louise Byrd Maxwell.
Thank you. This is my mom and I had not seen her marker. My brother was supposed to let me know when her marker was placed. Gordon Sullivan is my step dad.

Christie Search
I am great granddaughter of Giulia Patiņo. I just found her at the Italian Cemetery in Colma, Ca. In my search I and from some old photos I found in my mothers things, I found a picture of Concha Patiņo Christie. She is a relative since on the picture it says "grandma's" cousins. She is buried with Francisco Patiņo who died July 15, 1905.
This has to be a relative of my great grandmother Giulia. All I know is that my great grandmother came here from Mexico. This is the first link I found with her side.
Just saw you are listed on John H Christie. This was Concha's husband.
Any suggestions are welcomed. I took take lots of cemetery pictures now.
