I am a Mother of five, a third order Franciscan Sister, and a retired science teacher living in Ludington, Mason County, Michigan. |
I have just finished photographing Rickey Cemetery, Amber Township. I apologize for the quality of the photos, many of its stones are not readable. Also it got very cold and started raining. Normally I like walking in the rain, but this was cold and you can tell by chopped off photos. I will try to get back when I can.
I will continue to transcribe and clip old newspaper death notices from the Ludington Daily News archives. I am creating a digital file of these for the local library and am adding them on this site for your personal - family use, feel free to copy my work for that purpose.
Hope it helps.
By the way, I am very happy to transfer memorials that are not of my family. Of course if they are closer related to you, yes. The memorials should be kept by family.

Hello Sandi: I got your recent messages. The only reason I have done so much research on the families buried in the three cemeteries that I am working on, is because I am helping the library, genealogical society and city of Farmington update their burial information and fix their maps. I have also photographed all three cemeteries. I've spent three years on this project and I am ready for it to end. I'm not related to Alfred Johnson. His grandparents, Thomas and Roxey Ingersoll, are buried in East Farmington Cemetery in Farmington Hills, MI and I am working on that cemetery. If you want to transfer him, I'll take care of him, but I'm related to him. I would love to find his parents. Have a great year!

Hello Sandi: His mother is listed as Lovisa on the family grave monument in East Farmington Cemetery in Farmington Hills, MI. She isn't actually buried there, which is the reason I didn't send you a link to her. Lovisa often became Louisa, which is the reason I mentioned it. If I find out where his parents are buried, I will send you the links. Regards...

Thank you so much for adding this news paper clipping it helped me to find yet another family member for our family tree. Jasper Sturgis was my grandmothers baby brother as would be the little one that was mentioned in the article. I was hoping maybe there was more articles related to the sturgis family perhaps what happened to the baby mentioned in this article you shared on Jasper. Again thank you so much for sharing and I look forward to seeing other items you find.

Thank you for the updates, Sandi. I'm not related to the Hills though a friend of mine is a distant relative so we're sharing this project.

I have no idea. I am not familiar with the family. Its a cemetery that I was just taking pictures in several years ago. Sorry I can't be of any help.

It looks like on the memorial for Anna Rahn (#22540759), you have the wrong photo (I think that is her son). The right photo for her is on the memorial of her husband Gustave (#22540728).
