I have been working on my family's genealogy since the 1980s. My research focuses on the Kelley, Renshaw & Latimer families in Texas and the Girling, Quin, Kaigler, Massey, Cansler, Bobo & Herrington families in Mississippi.
Miles Cook Jr #99205314 I have made the suggested corrections and transferred this memorial to you. If you would also like Malinda &/or Martha Jane (or any others not in my direct line), just let me know and I will gladly transfer others as well. Thanks for your help.
58817626 Frances Carruth Quin - John Carruth'a will mentions his four daughters, Fanny Quin,Elizabeth Henderson, Jane Allison, and Polly Graham...also his living sons, George and John plus two deceased sons Walter and Adam. Don't know if that is info you might have an interest. My husband's mother was a Carruth and have been trying to follow her genealogy (not easy as every Carruth had 10-12 kids all nameed John, George, Adam, Robert....).
Brad Duncan and I are 2nd cousins. Cecil Sr and my grandfather, Charles Sr were brothers. We've never met and I do not have a memory of Cecil, just his brother James (Jim). Jim lived with Charles and Vada. Amy keeps the Find A Grave info for Cecil and one aunt, Georgia. She is Cecil's great-grandaughter, I think.
Fred Thomas Sr Thank you so much for adding my Great Grandfather, Fred Thomas, I've looked for him for years. I hope you will go here http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Thomas-8864 and read the Mother's Day Letter he wrote his Mom
RE: Prell family of Kansas Hi Dawn, I am not related to the Prell family, but was at a flea market this weekend and came across a picture of the Prell family. I bought the picture because I can't stand the thought of a family photo not being with the family! It is a wonderful (good size) photo with 3 boys, a man and woman. I "think" it is your sister in laws family. The back of the photo has some writing on it, the reason I bought it. It says, Mr & Mrs Prell, it lists 1 of the boys as Henry Prell and the other boy is listed as Louis Prell, no name on the other boy. Under the name for Mr. & Mrs. Prell it says, "neighbors in Bremen, Kansas to Fred & Alma Harder & Children". Under Henry's name it says, "died young, killed by", nothing more is written. I think this is Friedrich, Sophia & sons, Friedrich, Henry & Louis. In the 1900 census they were neighbors with Fred & Alma Harder. If you are interested, I will be more than glad to send it to you. Truely a quick reply. :) Mary Eliza Coulter was my great grandmother, Elizabeth Agnes Coulter's sister. Mary Eliza was born on her father, James Knox Coulters farm and died there during the 20th century (see family links on findagrave). Elizabeth and Mary Eliza's mother was a Hunt, daughter of James Jackson Hunt one farm over. The Massey's and the Hunts were intermarried and were cousins. Do you have any Hunt relatives?
When Mary Eliza died, her neice whom she raised after the death of her father took posession of the photos and kindly allowed me to photograph them. She died many years ago and I have no idea where the originals are now. Some of the unidentified may include Massey's, Hunt's, and Coulters. Do you have any idea where I could post some of these photos in hopes that someone may be able to identify some of these people? Some of them do have names on the back but I have been unable to locate any descendants.
RE: Mary Ann Wood Cunningham Hello Dawn, Thank you so much for the memorials re my in-laws Herbert Thomas Cunningham Sr. and Mary Ann Wood Cunningham. And I appreciate the death certificate as I will copy it and put it with my records. I was thinking I would have to go to the courthouse in Benjamin Texas and get the certificate but now you have provided it..great!
By the way, Mary Ann was called "Jack" by everyone, not many people knew her real name as Mary Ann.
I will place pictures of Herbert and Mary Ann on their memorials. You may not have gone to Mattie Allene Wood Griffith's memorial as I placed a picture there. Mattie Allene was always thought to be somewhat mentally slow and I felt sorry for her as not having a pictue on her memorial. As far as I know her family never made many pictures of her, I had only one of her as a child so that was all I had.
RE the obituary for Mary Ann Cunningham which I have not been able to find. Thank you for suggesting I go to the library in Munday, Texas.
Rogers in Texas Thank you so much for your contributions to our Rogers family, especially the photos. I spent years looking for Mary Katura Rogers Moore. I'm no longer able to travel to Texas to search for myself, so your service is invaluable. And thanks to you, not only is the Rogers family reunited in death, but living survivors are finding each other! Barbara Tynes Claiborne
