Please feel free to take any photos that I attach and upload them to your family tree. You do not need to ask my permission or credit me for the photograph.|
I live in the East Riding of Yorkshire in England and am willing to look for graves etc in the local area.
I am trying to make a full record of the cemeteries I live near and am using local history records to add in the details for headstones which I cannot read or are missing. I started this when tracing my own family tree and my aim is to help anyone tracing their family. I do not want to upset anyone, so if anyone wants me to remove or transfer memorials please let me know.
Tip (Copied from England Discussion Forum):
To do a search for cemetery or churchyard in a particular county go to cemetery search and begin with a full search for all in England. Find-A-Grave will say that there are too many records and that you should go back and refine the search so that it returns fewer results. Ignore this and in the address bar at the top of the screen, where the url reads:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=csr&CScn=&CScntry=5&CSst=0 replace the 0 at the end with one of the following codes. There may still be several pages of cemeteries in the list for the county, but it is easier to look through
4216 County Durham
4811 East Riding of Yorkshire
4217 East Sussex
4220 Greater London
5248 Greater Manchester
4226 Isle of Wight
4233 North Yorkshire
4240 South Yorkshire
4244 Tyne and Wear
5249 West Midlands
4247 West Sussex
4248 West Yorkshire

Charlie, Is there any chance that you could transfer this memorial over to me?
I promise to transfer it back !
You'll understand so when I have finished editing it.

The keyboard got stuck & it was meant to have included that I was the one who placed the flags on his grave.

Thank-you for posting a photo of my great uncles grave. I was privileged to visit it for the first time with my mother who also visited for the first time last year. It was 100 year since his passing.
When did you take the photo and I am really touched that it was still gracing his grave.
Look forward to hearing from you

I was adding info to a grave you photographed and am unable to put his place of birth (Garthorpe, Lincolnshire) because it is not on the list. What do I do?

I am interested in the photo you took of the grave of William Reuben (D:1895) and Elizabeth Clarke (D;1924) at Aldershot Military Cemetery.
Do you have a note as to which area of the cemetery the grave was located as I hope to go there on friday (6th May).

Thank you for your response. Would it be possible to put down when you enter in on the website, that it is a burial record not a gravestone that the information has come from? And that the gravestone was not visible?

Thank you so much for the photograph of this memorial. Solomon and Mary are my Great, Great, great grandparents. Their son Solomon was the father of my Great Grandfather Herbert Maudson Waterhouse - the Maudson comes from Mary's maiden name.
Thank you also for the various Axe family memorials in Doncaster. I believe these are probably mostly nieces and nephews of Alice Axe - wife of Solomon Jr.
