I am continuing the genealogical research my Mother began in the 1940's-1985. This Oct. 2013 my DAR applications was accepted through Wingfield Wright dau.Mary Polly Wright/Nancy Lewis/Peter David Cantrell/Mattie Lou Cantrell/ Alberta Elmore line. This includes the family names out of Conn./VA./Kentucky and Illinois. They are: Elmore, Cantrell, Lewis, Close, Victor/Engle, McCubbins, Bloyd (Bloide), Skaggs and Wright. I have posted my great grandfather's gravesites and those of his two wives on Find a Grave. They are buried on the Old Moss Scott Farm in Green County, KY. (see directions below) This is near where a school house used to stand according to my mother's notes. The Peter David Elmore gravesite and his 1st wife, Mellie (Melvina) V. Elmore and his 2nd wife, Mary E. Close are across from the old homestead (2nd house he built). The house is now empty, but still standing. There are also field stones here which my relatives said were Skaggs relatives. Specifically, the Elmore/Skaggs girl twins who died at birth according to my relative. A barn used to be in front of these gravesites, but has since been torn down. I have a picture of my mother and her father standing in front of the barn and in front of the old tombstones. The gravestones posted are new gravestones put up by my 2nd cousin as the others had deteriorated. These gravesites were shown to me in June of 2009 by the 2nd cousin who I hadn't seen in 40 years! I was so thrilled to meet her again and spend time with her, her husband, daughter and son. Kentucky hospitality is alive and well! I also met my Grandfather Elmore's sister's child and her daughter. I appreciate the Find a Grave web-site very much and all the contributors! I try and help others when I can. Updated 10/10/13|

Janet - It is possible to add a photo in addition to what is on the memorial page. I have copies of the 1910,1930 and 1940 Census records and biographies from the Hope ND Centennial book, published in 1981/82. These records list his wife as Gwladys, who was born in the 1890's and died prior to the 1940 census, when Wilfred was listed as a widower and no children were listed. Why a second wife's name was not listed in the bio. is a bit of a mystery, but the families wrote and submitted the information for publication and only minor edits were made to the submissions. I will send you copies of the census and bio. records if you give me and email address.
I am willing to transfer the memorial to you, but in order to do this I will need your Find A Grave member number. Do you want any of the other Morgan family who are in the Hope Cemetery? I will transfer them as well.

You wanted to connect Martha to her husband, but the memorial number you gave me is Martha's...do you have her husbands memorial number?

I found a stone for Leo Lewis (seemed like the correct dates)right next to Alice Lewis's stone.
I assumed that was her husband (because of the obituary you posted). I added his memorial to Find A Grave and linked them.
If he isn't the correct individual, let me know and I will unlink them.
Also, let me know if you want him transferred to you. Thank you.
The Cantrell's, Elmore's, Graham's, etc. are family members of mine as well. Peter Cantrell is my 3rd great grand uncle.
Have a great day,

Ok, thanks. I'm trying to find out more about him for my grandpa's birthday and I've gotten caught up with is biological family trying to find pictures of them, even if it's just their graves.
Thank you for this information.

You are very welcome.
|Heather Cottrell||Geneva Mae Allred Moore|
Thank you for posting a photo of Geneva's marker that she shares with her husband on Find a Grave. Mr. Moore did not have a memorial so I made him one. I was wondering if you could also post your photo on his memorial? here is the link to it
Thank you for your time and efforts!

Just a quick question as to the situation for posting photos. I claimed the photo for Richard Paaske on 03/22/2013 and got a chance to take the photo mid week. Please let me know you are going to take the photo as that cemetery isn't that close to me. I like taking the shots but don't like wasting gas on a dry run...
I posted the photo not knowing you had already posted yours.
Just let me know and I'll not double post. Thanks
