I am a career Law Enforcement Officer serving the community since 1974. A fellow findagrave member pointed me to the findagrave website after he was attempting to locate a cemetery in the Centerville, Houston County, Georgia area and I have thoroughly enjoyed utilizing the website to locate family members and document grave sites wherever located. I have shared the website with many family and friends and have made several friends across the country as a result of utilizing the site. Should I ever really go into retirement, I plan to take a more active role in working on locating and documenting grave sites wherever I locate them and want to thank everyone in the findagrave family for all they do to make this site successful.|

I have noticed that you have several Cooper family memorials, are any of them related to the Cooper-Hall family that I am researching. The family was located in or around Appling County, Georgia. Some have moved away and some stayed. Any help would be appreciateted.

Hello Mr. Cooper,
Sorry for delay in responding, but I've been out of town. As far as I can tell, the only way to get a cemetery name change is via the "Cemetery Correction Forum", by which one starts a string justifying such a change. I don't know who originated the name "Chamblee" for this cemetery. It appears as such in the Alabama Cemetery Registry & on USGS maps; it is also called "Chamblee" in the only published version I know of, which is by Robert C. Horn in "Tap Roots" (East Alabama Genealogical Society), Vol. 22, No. 1 (July 1984). I also don't know who originated the site for this cemetery in "Find-a-Grave"; I added my wife's Cooper ancestors there as well as some others I noted were not already added, because that was the already established site. I would hope that "Cherry" or Edna Ward or someone with the actual documentary backing would initiate the change to "Old Chewacla."
Joseph W. & Julia Elliott Cooper are my wife's 3d great grandparents; are you related to them?

Thank you for posting this information. If anyone is interested many Knightons migrated from Georgia to Lafayette County, Arkansas. Check out Shiloh Baptist Cemetery.

I have followed closely the wonderful work you have done in the Smith Family Cemetery. Indeed, this is my family as I am a double descendent of William Smith through Ardella and Needham. I would be proud to accept custodianship of the memorials you have so carefully created.

I just answered my own question. I found a picture of his grave posted on line and it states
Smith Family Cemetery. It says death date is not clear.....according to DC in died in Atlanta,
Fulton Co., GA on 03 Jul 1925 and It lists his parents as Abner Redding and Annie Smith. Perhaps to person who has sponsored these graves would like to list them since they seem to be her relatives. I deleted the entries that I made in Bon Aire Cemetery and will contact Peggy
McCullough. Thanks for your help anyway. Diane

Do you by any chance know if Charles A. Redding and his wife, Esther McElroy Redding, are buried in the Smith Family Cemetery in Bon Aire with his parents, Abner and Ann Smith Redding. Their Death Certificates list them as buried in Bon Aire, GA and I placed them in the Bon Aire Cem. but I was just wondering if I did their memorials in the wrong cemetery. I am working on a supplemental for a friend in the UDC on Abner Redding and have to prove each generation.
Thanks for any help you can give me. Diane Jones
