Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Laurel. I'm married and live in Central Texas. I just recently became involved in several groups on Facebook, Historic Texas Cemeteries and Cemetery Explorers. And also Find A Grave. I just enjoy visiting cemeteries, especially older cemeteries. I find a peace and tranquility there; I also find the history very interesting. I enjoy being able to find graves for other people, the joy that it brings to them. I personally am researching the Ioor/Joor family history after discovering three brothers buried at an old cemetery near my home. I hope that I can help you if you need a picture of a certain grave in my area. I'll do my best

RE: Ioor Family
Sorry, can't help on the family in Question. Robert Zane Bevers was my Uncle as a result of his marriage to my Aunt Alice Pauline Vallance. I knew his Father and Mother but nothing about their respective families. Good luck on your continued research.

RE: Coryell Baptist Church Cemetery
I cannot tell you anything about a cemetery association for Coryell Baptist Church Cemetery, but I can tell you about Coryell Baptist Church.

In 1955 two of my cousins, Mary and Minnie Boyd, wrote "Light on the Prairie."
This is what the front cover looks like:

and the back cover:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~gazetteer2000/coryelbc/cbc-74.htm

The book was probably printed by the newspaper in Gatesville.

Copies of this book are no longer available, but the entire text is posted in my "People and Places: Gazetteer of Hamilton County, TX"

RE: James Martin Crain
The graves of James Martin Crain, Marah Ann "Mary" (McGlothlin) Crain and two of their children--Sarah Cordelia "Delia" Crain and George Abijah Crain were never marked with gravestones.
Uncle George and Aunt Delia lived in a house (shack) just north of the cemetery. After Uncle George died, Daddy's brother--Edwin--brought Aunt Delia to live in Hamilton. I do recall that when Aunt Delia died, Uncle Edwin had an argument with the local undertaker about the way Aunt Delia's casket would be carried to Coryell Church Cemetery. Uncle Edwin wanted to transport her coffin in the back of his pickup. I do not remember who won the argument--but I suspect that it might have been Uncle Edwin.

I attended the funerals for both Uncle George and Aunt Delia and remember that they were buried in the NW corner of the cemetery--perhaps near the grave of Thomas Martin Crain--which is marked. I remember being told that Uncle George and Aunt Delia were buried beside their parents.

I have not been to this cemetery in over 30 years.

RE: Mary Wallace Joor
I would like a picture of that also. I live in Maryland so it is not possible for me to get one but I believe I have requested a photo knowing the chances are slim of getting one. I believe 'we' were lucky to get one of her husband's!! So you just have to keep an eye on her memorial to see if one is ever submitted.

Best of Luck, Andrea

RE: Blocker Cemetery
You are very welcome! I almost didn't find the cemetery. It was on someone's private property. We drove down the lane that was marked private and had a sign that said "Blocker House" and knocked on the door of the house to see if they knew of a Blocker Cemetery. They were very gracious to let us thru a private gate and gave directions to the cemetery which was located around to the left and back of the home. I have done a little research on the Blocker home and thought you might like to see some of what I found. I hope it will help you with your family history research.

Because this is a private cemetery, I tried to get pictures of as many graves as possible. It was almost dark by the time we found it, and many of the graves were not readable. I will work on trying to match them up with others persons listed under the Blocker Cemetery, however it will have to wait a few weeks as I am going out of town tomorrow for a while. I hope this information is helpful to you.

This first link states that only Blocker descendants are buried in the cemetery.
