Someone was kind enough to transfer a great great uncle of mine who also died in the Civil War. Just passing it on. Family history is so fascinating.

I wonder if it would be possible to put a note on his page to help future researchers. A volunteer went to that cemetery last week to take a photo of his grave marker and there is not one. His wife's grave is marked, but his is not.

Thanks for your note of duplicate, I have now deleted. Generally, I submit several hundred names via the excel upload then FindaGrave will remove the duplicates. However, a few duplicates slip through their check. In addition, I have reviewed individually, I must have missed this one. Thanks.

Reeds and Livingstons
I am related to both in Orangeburg County. Also, I am near the burial place of Archibald M Douglas and others in Darlington County.

RE: Lounette
Great! I am glad to know how to work that. It is a bit different than managing a family tree on Ancestry.com, which I just started today. I don't know just how we are connected, but I am glad to find more family!

John Robinson Leysath
I read this memorial with interest because an online friend and I are looking for James M Leysath (son of James Leysath and Ann Golson). It is pretty clear that he settled in Butler County Alabama but we haven't found proof of a marriage or a list of children.

Mary Robinson is likely the daughter of James and Ann Leysath that placed the marker on her parents graves in Orangeburg. She would be a sister to my GG Grandmother.

Any knowledge of a will that might have named him (possibly a will of Mary U Leysath Robinson) or her husband.

I see from your website (which is great) that you are interested in the Reed family. So this is probably just a spouse of a relative but I wondered if you had any information about who his parents and siblings might be.

By the way on his wife, I believe she is listed as born in Orangeburg on the memorial but the obit suggests she was born in Augusta.

Catherine Hall

Thanks

Olivia Odom Jones
James Cheek was used as a reference to where Olivia and JU Jones where buried. It says that Uncle Clarence took a picture of the headstones however none were provided in the book, but that the headstones were in very bad shape. Uncle Clarence does not referenced how James Cheek was related but Johnnie and Ellen Jones daughter Maggie Jones married Lacy Leonard Cheek June 18, 1927. The only documentation provided in the book are the newspaper articles from HW Jones death and JU Jones death and 1860 and 1900 census information. I received a letter from Uncle Clarence, I had requested information on how I could obtain documentation on the internet since I live in California, he said that he did not have an answer for S.C. for places that you can write for information, he went in person to get the information. Uncle Clarence 128491060 unfortunately passed away in 1997.
