|JanieB||Capt. Benjamin Gist and Thomas Gist|
I am a member of the DAR and my 1st Patriot was Thomas Gist. I am now awaiting notification of approval of my 2nd Patriot, Capt. Benjamin Gist. I was just thrilled to see the wonderful information that you have posted about both of them in Find A Grave, and I will now be able to reference these in my Ancestry.com account. Thank you so much for your wonderful and valuable work regarding some of the people who gave so much so that we might have this incredible country of ours!

Re: your gracious response - I'm not a member of Ancestory but would be happy to add five generations to the tree. That will be 314 yrs of lineage up to and including my youngest son . Thank you again for your research .

|Lynda (Colbaugh) Raitala||Col. Robert McFarland - Hamblen Co., TN|
Hi Vonnie - Yes, there is a duplicate for him; however, the 318148341 memorial is in the incorrect McFarland cemetery. My memorial is correct - you will need to contact the person who maintains the memorial in the McFarland Cemetery. It IS confusing!

Find A Grave believes everyone should be remembered equally and have built the site to support common alternative dispositions to traditional burial. This includes cremation, lost or buried at sea, and donated to medical science.
Location of body unknown should be used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. Final disposition should be determined and updated within 30 days.
I am sorry for your loss.
I said or know nothing about the memorials of your husband and son.
