Cheryl Hamilton
trimble
Hello,

I am related to James Trimble that is buried in Old Monmouth Cemetery. I believe that he is also the father of John Trimble a Rev. War Solider. John later moved to Georgia. I have been searching for any record of his grave. Is there a photo available of James's grave?

John Caruthers
Vonnie,

No, the families connected with them are Slawson, Graves and Caruthers.

Thanks again for your work (?) (sometimes I think of it as play). I do appreciate your sharing your findings. Is is because of you and others like you that I have been able to gather so much knowledge of my husband's and my ancestry. The Wrights did not know that their forebearers served in the American Revolution, the Civil War and the Texas Revolution before I became involved in Genealogy. Your research has now added more particular information.

Thank you!

John Caruthers
Thank you so much, Vonnie, for the information you sent re: John Caruthers and his Kings Mountain service. It is taking me much to much time absorbing all you sent. Your historical research and documentation is very valuable to the descendants of these heros and most important it is helpful in making sure that the facts of these men's participation in establishing our Country are remembered. Do you have a suggestion as to what should be included in the Bio?
My husband's niece is trying to prepare a SAR application submission for her father, Richard Samuel Wright, who descends from
John Caruthers through Samuel Caruthers, William Caruthers, Jane Caruthers Wright Chamberlain, George W Wright, and William G Wright (his father) but cannot find when and where George W died.

RE: Kings Mountain
By the way I envy you for getting to go to NC in few weeks. We went there about 3 weeks ago and I got to do some research there. Love going there.

The pension for Alexander Faires is a younger man. Thanks for posting it here. I've seen it. I will contact you via e-mail about Alexander Sr.

RE: Kings Mountain
Here is the number for Alexander Faires. His surname has been spelled a few ways so sometimes it's hard to find him. There's no reference to his participation in the war. I have some records on him, including the information from Draper Manuscripts in which he wrote about Alexander Faires during the war at one incident. Let me see if I can find a link to that information that someone posted online. I'll e-mail it to you. OK?

Kings Mountain
I also have two other ancestors who fought at this battle, one being Matthew Pryor (burial location unknown but he died in Marion Co., TN in the area of Whitwell and Jasper); and the other being Alexander Faires but I think it was possible it could be his son or nephew of same name who fought. Alexander Sr. was said to have fought there but no records or pension application for him. Lyman Draper does have some information on Sr. who was under Thos. Sumter. Sr. is buried at Old Unity Cemetery in York Co., SC. Just thought I'd let you know.

John McAdoo, Rev War
Hi Vonnie.

I apologize for taking this long to finally get the Rev War and Kings Mountain information put into John McAdoo's biography on his page. I was going to do it but somehow your request got lost in the mailbox that I got behind on. Thank you for your contribution to his military information.

Jennifer Allen
J. Kerr/DAR info
Hi Vonnie,
I just added Janes info for you. Please look it over. It is very possible that she passed away in Pennsylvania. The Pa line is not that far from here and it also happened in my family where my Great Grandmother passed away in Jefferson County Ohio and my 90 year old Great Aunt remembered the horse and buggy taking her casket to Mason County, West Virginia when she was a little girl because she was buried in the Lewis Family Cemetery. I don't mind any additions you would add to any of the memorials and if I can help you further please let me know.
